Operatives could really use a team buff.

It seems to me that Operatives have some very useful abilities, like the CP Firewalls, but most people shy away from using them as they are the only class without the ability to directly buff teammates.

Personally, I think the speed buff that medics can give would have done better as an Operative ability. What do you all think? What other kind of buff could the Operative have that would fit the class without being unreasonable?

Id love 'em to have the supply sharing of the current medics. I run around “oom” quite often and would really appreciate the supply of an helpful op.

Might have an interesting impact on holding hacking objectives like on resort as offense. Sucks really bad when your team is on the floor and you cant revive anymore. The defenders come again and then we can start from the scratch.

EDIT: ATM I dont think many medics chose supply sharing as they got other more important skills (limit of 3) and use their supply quite good on their own (for the team).

I agree I think the supply buff would be a great team buff for the operative, but then he’d be the only one unable to buff his self so I can see where the speed boost would fit rather well. how about just a supply pip buff, so he could buff himself and others to get another pip.

How about a EMP Exchange?

You’ll be able to toss an EMP grenade to a team-mate as a safety first kinda thing.

Automatically bonded to your left D-pad command, simply double click it to switch between the original command and the EMP.

I think it would pretty cool.

Soldier A is going in a separate direction than Operative B whom just got sniped by Turret C

Operative B know’s Soldier A is going to get within a stone throw’s distance from Turret C

Operative B throws Soldier A an EMP.

Turret goes bye-bye at the hands of Soldier A

Agreed. The operative is fun to play but no self or team buff and no game changing addition like turrets or revives leaves them a little dull after a while.

Maybe a one hit kill melee from disguise would make for more pzazz. It could be animated like Dr McKoy’s judo chop.

Their team buff comes in the form of intel:
landmines
radar (comms hack)
and enemy highlighting

But yeah, you don’t buff, 1 person:
I like the idea of given them the transfer supply ability. But at this point I highly doubt they would do something like that. That would be the operative would have 1 more ability compared to everyone else (9)
and the medic one less.

Instead of the upcoming UAV on the DLC. Maybe make it so that operatives can hand out personal radars as a buff?

The part that sucks is that firewalling doesn’t give you any xp so why bother getting the perk and people complain about comm hacks because it messes with their intuition.

I actually like the fact they don’t buff. Since they are usually behind enemy lines anyways breaking their defenses. I think of them as one of the most valuable assets alongside the engineer.

He could give his team mates a pair of slippers so they have silent footsteps until they die, or covert buff where team mates don’t trigger combat intuition on the enemy when aiming and don’t show on radar.

Give this man a koekje. And firewalling should grant XP.

(neks) #10

what about a buff with cool down that would improve a teammate’s accuracy / reduce spread

(iezza) #11

Flak jacket. reduces explosive damage by (insert Kevlar damage resistance here ) %

(A.i) #12

how is commhack and wall hack not enough  + I like that OP is a seprate class from others, it makes only 1-2 ops per team, which is enough…

(Zanchile) #13

it does give xp.

(mortis) #14

Good then. I didn’t even know about this ability until today, as I have been busy doing engineer things, mostly…
