[Operative} Some suggestions

(Dr Cowley) #1

Hi all

I’ve been playing brink since its release in the UK and am absolutely loving it. It has replaced BFBC2 as my main On-line game and I hope to be playing it for a very long time to come. I’m maining the operative class and have noticed a few things that need changing. I’m sure some of these things may have been mentioned in the past by other players but I thought I’d list them here incase the developers missed the other posts.

Disguises

* When in disguise the operative loses there on screen aiming reticule making spotting enemies and mines that are further away than a few feet quite difficult and time consuming. A simple dot much like what we get whilst hacking would be fine. As a temporary solution I've ordered some of those daft stickers that you put on your TV/Monitor that impose a crosshair, much like what the COD kids use for quick scoping and such. Thanks SD, you've grouped me with those tusks now :(

* When in disguise and my gun is hidden why are my arms also hidden? This can make mantling sometimes a little bit tricky as I've no idea whether my character grabbed a ledge or not.

* Combat Intuition Activating for an enemy whilst I'm in disguise. No, just No. This needs changing. How is it that a universal ability can render a class ability more or less useless? If I've drawn my weapon then that’s fine Combat Intuition should kick in but if I'm just aiming whilst in disguise to mark them with homing beacon then it shouldn’t trigger at all.

* Add control turret to the objective wheel. I doubt this would get added but you never know. It's possible to take control of a turret that you've already added a control box to by aiming at it through a wall, would be a lot easier if you could select this task from the objective wheel to highlight it.

Hacking

* When on operative is hacking an objective they are unable to fire there weapon which is fine. One thing I would like to see though is the ability to slide. It's already possible to run whilst hacking but when I crouch whilst running I do just that, crouch. Sliding isn't a very powerful (damage wise) tool but it would give the operative a tiny bit of defense whilst hacking. The character doesn’t use his hands whilst sliding so it wouldn’t interrupt the hack

I’m sure I’ve forgot some things I was going to mention so I’ll add them at a later date if I remember and I’m not going to echo some of the more obvious and repeatedly mentioned things such as lag and lobby’s and such. Thanks for reading guys at SD (if you did… you didn’t did you? look…penis) and to anyone else who chips in with any more ideas.
