Open beta and things that still are

(D'@athi) #1

The things catching my eyes or my nerves even after the start of openbeta

  • still quite few most obvious “instakill” cheaters
  • still no working ingame-report-system for cheaters
  • still getting put onto ping 300+, eh no 450 now, servers instead of starting a new one (probably for empty servers beeing in a state of no gamemode, so the tool can’t find em, like you don’t see them in the server-browser when filtering?)
  • still empty servers showing up as populated with people timed out on it
  • still getting kicked before start of a map (probably making room for the ones timed out?)
  • still having to play with lvl 1-5 looking around the world not knowing what they should do. I even tried playing poker instead of stopwatch, got a street 1,2,3,4,5. Did I win? No!
  • still having to play vs full premades when solo-queueing in competetive
  • still the game is connecting to the server after having pressed cancel and the “joining-stuff” disappeared
  • still the performance s$%& hard, for me, barely 110fps minimum with a squishy looking performance-cfg on an i5@4x4ghz, while the gpu isn’t at full load
  • still the game is using one cpu-core to nearly 100% load even when in menu idling or even on desktop in backround
  • still no raw-input
  • still having to fiddle around in the ini to get acceleration switched off as a high-sense-player
  • still no other crosshairs
  • still the EV disappears for some and people are able to shoot through it, when it happens
  • still nothing to do with double gold-cards
  • still not getting the xp of the first stopwatch-round

I guess you are really working hard in the backround on stuff you can’t even see or bugs which don’t concern me personally. But some of the things above are around for months now, and many people got probs with it, while you just started the “open” “beta”. Thx

are you telling me accel is on??, that would explain a lot for me. can you tell me which config and commands please?

Yep the mouseinput isn’t really 1:1, even when having smoothing (the only option availible) turned off.
My lowsensefriends g don’t have a big problem with it, but for me playing on highsens since dunno… forever?, it is really terrible.

  • First, set your windows-mousespeed to the middle of teh scale, aka 6/11 (there is no raw-input in this game yet, so even windows fiddles around with the mouse).
  • Second I found this on the net, helping me: http://forums.gamersfirst.com/topic/226344-mouse-accelerationdampening-fix/ .
  • And third, try to find a sense as high as possible and decrease the dpi as long as the movement doesn’t get to “unsmooth”/bricky whatever (luckely for me, I found my sweetspot @ 60sens/850dpi). This minimized the influence of the gameroutines.

Hope it helps.

edit: I also tried playing around with the usenewmouseinput, but really, it’s a pain in the ass. You never know when it’s on/off, have to use it every new launch, just annoying.

No problem, glad to help.
Still a pity this needs to be pointed out, since there a thread on this topic on many ue3-based fps-games.
