Only actual matches we're seeing is of terrible players against AI

With the streams and videos out before the official release, all potential customers and those on the fence are seeing Brink played by below average people against AI. Most are boring.

Is this really the what a publisher should want?

The SMART videos are not full match gameplay, just snippets. People have been wanting to see REAL FULL gameplay matches for a long time, and now we’re seeing them – but people are turned off because it seems most of the people who have Brink right now and the ability to stream or record are terrible.

Why Bethesda didn’t allow SD to upload some pre-release games playing Brink at the gaming events is beyond me. I remember recently with Halo Reach how many full length videos were out before Reach was released. Why not Brink?

Dumb dumb dumb dumb.

I guess it’s the community’s job now to market Brink post-release.

I have purposefully avoided said videos. I like surprises. Thankfully, you’ve alleviated my fear that the “pre”-players will become skilled.

Im not turned off, none of my friends have been turned off and in fact 1 more person after seeing the actual gameplay vids (ones with horribly crappy play) has decided to purchase it.

Why do you guys seem to think people are unable to form their own opinion. The comments on the majority of the vids I have watched even the painfully boring ones have been good.

id have to agree with you op , best footage ive seen is the crappy cam vids of PAX , because it shows the game in a pvp enviroment , and no matter what sd say imo the bots seem dumb as **** :stuck_out_tongue:

I also find it weird that preview videos are removed at this forum but not at the official forum over @ bethesda.

Hey man it’s Bethesda’s first multiplayer game, go easy on them, they simply have no idea, they’re just absolutely clueless as to what multiplayer games are looking for in a game, they can’t help it.

why allt he hate? dont you got some 360 cowadooty shooter game to play?

singleplayer match with illegal copies of the game (illegally downloaded and loaded on illegally hacked consoles) playing only against bots =/= real gameplay footage, this is a multiplayer focused game, if you cant comprehend that go play cowadooty

Umm, that isn’t the issue. The issue is that with the only real footage about Brink is being played by morons and it leaves a bad impression of the game for others.

I don’t think they seem that dumb. I watched the bots use multiple routes to flank the player and destroy. And the team AI seemed to be where they were supposed to be for the most part. They were doing a better job then the joystickler guy was.

I also noticed that the bots often acted pretty terribly too. There’s a part when the VIP is being escorted to the top of a ramp and one of the enemies just stands there for a few seconds looking at a wall.

EDIT: This doesn’t worry me in the slightest though.
