Online campaign: reconnections

(xTriXxy) #1

is this true about gameplay?

“If you are at a point in your campaign, (online) and you lose the battle, you will be reconnected to a new server with players at the same part as you and you can try again, while the winners remain to fight the next battle”

correct me if i’m wrong, but that means, if i lose at some part of campaign, game will redirect me to another server with players at the same “game progress” ? and what if, what if there will be no server at the moment with players on same position as me? or no available server, or every server will be full?

In that situation, I believe you may be sent in a server filled with bots, and if others want to join the bots will gradually be replaced.

i see. so this is that “online” singleplayer. hm… maybe. if there will be no server available to meet your “position”, game will switch you from mutliplayer to offline mode, you will pass something against bots, and after that game will reconnect you back to online with real players they are same progress as you?

Just play objective servers if dont like it.

(xTriXxy) #5

i think its good idea

I would like to know the answer to this definitively. I don’t forsee you losing any ground, but how the game will handle this situation would be nice to know going in. Great question.

I believe this is mostly for console, if you are hosting and lose, the winning team moves to one of it’s own as host and continues while you stay on your host and try again, my understanding anyway

Makes a lot of sense. Except winning team may move to a higher level match where another team lost and is therefore hosting, so winners probably don’t move on as host, they just move on. Probably same thing with PC you’re just moving to a dedicated server instead, but still the losers would stay on that server and the winners would move to a new server. In this case the servers could be running the same map multiple times in a row.

I think it was said the losers are the ones who move on. Potato, po-taa-to.

To-maa-to, To-ma-to.

Whats a po-ta-to? :stuck_out_tongue:

PS: sorry, im just bored about the LACK of NEW INFO about the game for 3+ months

i think this is that combination of singleplayer and multiplayer.

in other games, for example Call of duty. in singleplayer you play against bots. i mean, there is only 1 real player, you.
But in brink, you will play against real players. if lack of real players, then bots will come. And this is perfect idea. What i dont understand is, server reconnections. If there is option to disable bots on servers, and i think everyone from server admins will disable them, what if game will simply switch you to “offline mode” (when no server available at the moment) against bots?

Because, if in Brink is no singleplayer or multiplayer, there is only one mode, one game you play. online or offine,in both ways we will progress, we will get xp,teh ranks and so on.
only this makes sense to me

This part really intrigues me about Brink.
Lets hope the reconnecting will be fast and smooth.

And please, o PLEASE have high quality voicechat on PS3.
