one problem with 2nd gen of loadouts

(BananaSlug) #1

… our event and special edition cards are going to be useless, for example i paid 12$ for best k121 card which wont be best in next update
same goes for normal cards…

we will need to collect best cards again

All I hear is waaaaaa

(blufflord) #3

I think he’s allowed to be annoyed, as long as he doesnt go ranting about how SD sucks or smthing like that.
@BananaSlug, yeah, unfortuantely that kinda stuff happens, not much to do about it. But, hey alteast that k121 card has drilled on it right? Thats the important part

(doxjq) #4

The same goes for all cards dude. Lots of people spent a hell of a lot of money grinding for specific cobalts because they were “the best” at the time, but that is almost guaranteed to not be the case now. Such is life, it’s the same for everyone at least.

(Cletus_VanDamme) #5

That’s not the problem with Gen 2 loadouts, that’s the point of them.

Do people really thing that SD is releasing another generation of loadout cards for ‘balance’ reasons? . It’s for profit only, that’s their only objective here.

Remember that cool Red Tiger camo from the closed period of the game? I bet that that will return as another gold variant, forcing people to play their slot machine yet again if they want said camo.

The reason is valid, and judging by newest mercs loadouts will be more balanced. But the chosen implementation is of course the most consumer hostile you can think of. Absolutely zero fucks given about about the most loyal playerbase, who has a ton soon to be inferior cards.

It is of course nothing new. I don’t use any of my 4 Cobalts because of suboptimal loadouts. Special edition cards - maybe one in three is usable. Doing nothing for people with obsolete bling cards is par for the course for SD. They didn’t even give us an option to exclude Obsidian loadout from the Suspect case, and 11,(1)% Obsidian buyers (people spending real money) will end up with a duplicate.

They did confirm more skins in the future would be a possibility. Tbh I’d just like to see another rarity higher than cobalt. I only have 400 hours in game and I already have a solid collection of cobalts (12-15ish) and golds (25-30ish), most of which I gained through trading not money, it’s kind of getting to the stage where I wish there was something higher, but I did ask a while back and they said it wouldn’t happen. Cobalts are going to be so common soon, they just won’t be rare any more haha.

Either that or perhaps more rarities that aren’t necessarily higher or lower, but different, which all hold their own colour scheme or something so people have more choice on what kind of skin they get.

Cobalts soon common? What? On average people drop out way before they get enough superfluous credits for creating a Cobalt. Hell, CW was ~7 months ago and I barely ever see people using CW cards. I’ve been playing DB for almost a year now and I don’t see bling cards becoming more common. Most of bling is just lucky drops from cases.

What? I’d call this incredible luck then. 600 hours according to steam, and all I have are 4 cobalts. Two dropped from normal/suspect cases, two traded-up. I need one more shitty gold and I’ll have 5. Five. For 600 hours.

(neverplayseriou) #10

Cause the new best k121 loadout will even have tough instead of cool and can barely be called an improvement…

(doxjq) #11

400 hours on my profile. Actually it’s more like 450 now, I haven’t looked for about 2 weeks.
800-900 hours on steam.

In regards to CW cards though, they were a one off, so ofcourse they’d be very limited. I never see people using CW cards either. I have plenty of friends who have CW cards who don’t use them because they were terrible loadouts. I got lucky however and got an S82 Arty during the CW event, so he’s been my main card since that event really.

But that’s just the thing with event cards. Unless they are good loadouts, people won’t use them any way, so you’ll almost never see them around.

(Cletus_VanDamme) #12

lol. CW cards.

I have an awesome CW Kira with the BR, can’t remember the name. I use that or my Swiss Dreiss / Drilled card.

Not anymore. They’ll both be inferior to the new selections, I doubt you’ll see any of the previous event skins ever again.

Just like they have planned.

(MarsRover) #13

Nah, there were a ton of people with CW cards during the event. They just aren’t playing anymore. The average level in free for all servers is about the same as a year ago. People play DB for a few (dozen) hours and leave. The only way to get a Cobalt in that time is by a lucky drop. So no, Cobalts won’t be common, ever.

(doxjq) #14

Agree to disagree, but whatever really, it doesn’t matter. Eventually there will be more skins whether it’s a higher rarity or not I dare say. Most likely it will be like @grumpyBull said, more variants of silver/gold/cobalt or something, which I’m fine with. The current ones are getting a little stale.

(BerylRdm) #15

Anyway… I wish we could trade our first edition cards for the same number second edition cards. Like, I take my ke21 cobalt Proxy, pay 10k credits and I get 2nd edition ke21 cobalt Proxy. They could give us one week or so for trading and then lock the possibility. That would be great.

(doxjq) #16

But the new cards have different numbers, so how would that work? Unless there is coincidentally a gen2 card that has the same number, like the 383 Sparks. I suspect that will stay there. I’ll be surprised to see someone like Proxy have any cards the same.

(N8o) #17

I honestly don’t give a flying f*ck what cards are the new meta or anything…

Kira gets a katana guys.
KIRA GETS A KATANA.

(doxjq) #18

Tbh some of the Gen1 cards are already pretty decent. I love my S82 Arty. Explodydendron is awesome for his airstrike and mechanic is really handy in pubs, and extra packs is nice. Tbh unless there is a new Arty card with the Stark, explodydendron and double time, I think I’ll keep using my S82. I’ll wait and see though.

(BerylRdm) #19

According to, for example, this:

Some cards gonna have same numbers.

(doxjq) #20

Yeah but wont the cards with the same number, have exactly the same weapons and augments? Thus transferring to second gen would be irrelevant wouldn’t it?
