One important detail for real balance on Reactor

The best way for Reactor imo, it’s , the team who attack ,can repair the 1st floor door from the exterior.Like that you balanced really this map.
Today it s really unbalanced map and this parallel objectif is useless, because for build it, we need hold completely the hackroom,it s really paradoxical .

Or give SDK for Hannes :wink:

A promod can save the game, but if you do like ETQW(best game ever), and you release it to late, i feal eternal fail ! i love you SD, really , but i can wait again 4 years for à real game, my child coming soon !

its easy to get in… attack from the left - go down the side and come up from underneath. i can get to that room without anyone seeing me. the thing is many people dont know how to get this way and dont know to use the door when open. once its open you can storm the hack area from 4 directions!

In match, 5o5 , it s more hard to build the door than hacking , it s paradoxical. You can enter by the subway, but it’s very dangerous ,you ve got proximinty on the top of the 2 stairs and médic and enge hold the position.
A parallel objectif will be easy, or it s not à side objectif .

Congrats for you to guy, but i can speak about mine , before 3 month :wink:

give a light body type acces by a window or the trasparent roof just over the side obj to open the door can be cool !

Yes i agree, the main ways i see to change map balance is to either increase defence spawn time or allow the door/bridge way to be opened by the attackers. Personally i prefer alternate routes rather than spawn time changes as makes the game more tactical. You could:

[ul][li] Put the (construct or hack???) box on the other side of the door[/li]or
[li] Allow lights to climb ontop/through a window to gain access and construct/hack the door open that way. [/li][/ul]

As mentioned before, all competant players know the bottom passage but it is always a priority in competition atleast to have a mine at the top of the stairs and a player patrolling that area. Also narrow stairs allow a massive choke point if attacking players get stuck half way up those stairs.
If the box was moved to the otherside of the door in favor of the attackers, it just gives the defence an extra job to keep planting a bomb to close it. Which allows less players looking at the other entrances on defence.

Reactor seems like a very balanced and competitive map.

Reactor is balanced by the fact that once you beat that first objective (the hack) you are pretty much guaranteed a win on resistance. I have lost games on reactor where the resistance had 1:30 mins left when they got to the second part and they still planted. Second objective is way too easy IMHO.

I understand that and agree but to a degree. I think the reason why the second objective is easy is because there are TWO plant spots and the 30 sec timer is pretty short for the amount of distance you have to run. I was expecting reactor to be the security version of shipyard. Like only two objectives but two hard to complete objectives. Instead its basically if you hold down the first part you win if you dont you lose :frowning:
