Is it just me or are there a lot of them ingame? Obviously if you play as Aura as opposed to Fragger, you’ll get one shotted a lot more often, and also on an 8v8 server you’ll die far more than on a 6v6 server.

So are there too many OHKOs or are there enough?

I play aura in 8v8 pubs all the time. The OHKO’s aren’t that annoying if you’re not over extending yourself.

It’s fine, most of the OHKOs punish players for not doing the right thing.

OHKO by sniper is okay. OHKO by fraggers nades is okay. OHKO on 110 HP with a shotgun shot is retarded and should be fixed. Shotguns kill in 1-2 hits while you need up to 10 hits with automatic guns.

Right, you also fire way, way faster with automatic guns. Those 2 shots are both pump action and are far more punishing if you miss.

I wouldn’t find them so much if they required a bit more skills. Shotguns aren’t to easy to use, especially the Hullonds but Nader requires very little skill and Vass requires absolutely no skill to play, there isn’t even a scope sway, can’t think of a single fps with an easier sniper.

The only one I’m not too sure about is Kira’s laser. It’s fast, has a reasonable radius and is brutal. I haven’t unlocked Kira yet though so I’ll reserve judgement.

Kira is my main at the moment so I know her pretty well.

Yes, it is possible to get triples with it.
However, it can be avoided by just doing a long jump.
In most cases the Kira sending out the laser will be far away from you and thus unable to locate your current position. It’ll go in random directions trying to pick up one or two.

Nonetheless, if it gets you by surprise you’re pretty much doomed.
But I guess it’s just like with grenades and airstrikes.
Sometimes they are even more dangerous as they can be used indoors too.

In my opinion, 1 shot kills shouldn’t be in the game. Or with max 1 exception (lets say a sniper headshot on a lighter character. But it still shouldn’t be an instagib.

1 shot headshot for Vasilli is fine IMO.

Sure, it is annoying to get hit by it and instantly die, but it rewards accuracy well.

Do you realise that automatic guns fire way faster than shotguns ? Do you also realise that it’s impossible for a shotgun to kill a 110 hp character unless you score a headshot ? The most powerful shotgun is the Remburg 7 and does not go above 96 damage per shot if all pellets are hit in the body. All shotguns have also a RPM of 87, while all automatic weapons have a RPM above 400. Also, shotguns have a very poor range, Ahnuhld-12 aside. This is the main reason why shotguns are not played in competitive.

I think it’s fine, game punishes you for doing things you shouldn’t be doing like walking into sniper sightlines, not getting ready to dodge grenades you can hear/see being cooked, being too close to shotguns, etc…

However to address people that think Vasilli needs a little nerf, I honestly have no idea how you can nerf his OHKs and still make him as useful as he is, especially in pubs.

I mean I imagine in a serious competitive environment, a nerf that gets rid of his OHKs would be fine as he’d just be used to delay pushes and so on (much like he already does), but it’d work a lot better with comms.

There’s no such thing as comms in public and that’s what most of the playerbase is going to play, so I really don’t know what you can do as a nerf besides nerfing his accuracy with the sniper rifle while moving or something.

What others have said: If you blow up, get vaporized, or otherwise instantly killed, you’ve most likely done something wrong. It’s not always the case, of course. It’s just that, on average, those times where it happens and you really had very little control over it won’t really matter.

Shotgun damage paired with speed of Aura/Proxy. You get 2 shots in the face before you even get around 10 shots on them jumping around like monkeys on drugs. Shotguns can deal many damage, fine, but shouldn’t be able to onehit headshots heavier mercs. 100 on head max and 75 on body max at closest range would be fair.

At less than 6 feet or so, a shotgun blast should one-shot anyone, headshot or not.

Shotguns seem to be really screwy in this game. I’ve seen them two-shot someone from across the map (which shouldn’t have landed at all) and at the same time fail to kill someone with 4 shots from 20 feet away (which should have dealt a minimum of 40% damage per shot with half-assed aiming)

Aura/Proxy have very little health. It’s a shotgun, it fires shells. It should do massive damage. Just don’t get close to them, and when forced into situations where you have to be close, you too can jump like a monkey. Just jump off some walls and make yourself a harder target. Especially when dealing with people who can’t seem to hit follow up shots.

Of course you will come across people who kick ass with their shotgun
