(nAb.Death) #1

Hello, once again… I downloaded wolfenstein ET Oasis .map file from here: http://www.splashdamage.com/content/wolfenstein-enemy-territory-map-source-files-released
and i edited it, now when i want to compile it to .bsp it says this ERROR:

LoadPCX: Couldn’t read mp_siwa_thomasc.pcx

What should i do?
I will be verry happy if someone helps me cuz i spent much time on editing the map and i would like to test it now, so…

Thank you!

Good evening again :p,

Have you placed this file in your etmain folder? It goes with the source  The PCX files store the texturing of the terrain, so you’d better have them in the right place to be working

(nAb.Death) #3

so where exectly do i have to put pcx file in etmain, just in etmain or in maps folder in etmain?

(Mateos) #4

Just in etmain

(nAb.Death) #5

ok now it works but it gives me another ERROR :frowning:

************ ERROR ************
MAX_ORIGINAL_EDGES

You know what to do?

It’s strange because it is due to too many triangles, and since you use a source map… Shouldn’t happen.

Which editor do you use? (Also to see if q3map2.exe is up to date)

He said he edited it a lot. Probably using the subtract tool which fractures brushes into lots of little pieces. (Just a guess)

I’d advise not to try and edit the default maps since it is unoriginal and your FPS won’t be very good if you don’t understand vis yet. Just my opinion though.

Also I suggest using search feature or google before asking here. (You’ll probably find an answer faster that way)
