So yeah: today I have 274 clocked hours on this game according to steam. I did buy the starter pack, but as for every other locked merc, I have bought them using the credits earned in game. With these 274 hours, I’ve also gotten one crappy random cobalt phantom loadout from a regular case, and today I finally had enough loadouts to trade up for my first cobalt nader loadout.
What I wanted:
- SM41 - what I currently use. Its the augments: 20% less damage from explosions, and 10% bigger explosions. The pistol clip size is nice too.
What I could have settled for:
- CR81 - Pretty much the same as above. Perhaps better primary weapon that what my number once choice has.
- SM72 - I admit: I am drawn towards the unshakable augment. Bit of a life safer against other naders, fletchers, sometimes fraggers and even proxies.
- KE81 - Quick draw is handy with the failsafe, as that gives you that little extra flexibility in close range combat.
- CR83 - Quick draw with more ammo, not as ideal as above, but more ammo is more ammo.
- KE72 - Double time lets you have some mobility in running and gunning.
- CR72 - Double time and finish the enemy team using a MG? It is a possibility.
- KE43 - Recently I have been jumping around quite a lot, so avoiding the fall damage is handy. Not to mention that with 120 hitpoints, you are often a sneeze away from dying, so the faster health regeneration is kind of neat.
What I got:
- SM43 - It has drilled, but reloading speed has never been an issue while playing as a nader. Not to mention that with the recent drop in SMG-9’s range, the focus augment doesn’t really offer much. After the last update it has been more difficult to force distant jars of vaseline to duck for cover.
So yeah… before trading up, I was thinking that I got about 8/9 chance to get something I could use in that lovely shade of blue. But instead… I just got what I got.
Well, the silver lining is: now I have lot less unused loadouts to wade through. But still, I kind of wish there was some way to reroll your cobalts, or trade down to something else.
