OmniBot Problem on Linux Server

(Shurtgal) #1

HI,

For a bit of fun I have used an “old” computer to run an ET Linux server. I’ve installed the 2.60b version and would like to add some bots. So I looked up OmniBot mod, installed it but I can’t get it to work, Neither with an etPub mod or normal etmain.

Here is my error message when I launch the server:

joss@Shurtgal:~/Documents/ETServer/enemy-territory$ ./etded.x86 +set dedicated 0 +set fs_game omnibot +set com_hunkmegs 64 +exec server.cfg

THe server just shuts down. If I just do : ./etded.x86 +exec server.cfg it works but with my wanted bots.

Anyone know what the problem could be ?!

Second question: I don’t seem to have a .cfg for my omnibot mod where I can set bot names etc. According to online documentation I should have a folder omnibot/et/scripts with different bot configs in it, I dont have that. any ideas ?

Thanks guys

Looks like you have a omnibot version for rtcw - only guessing.

Get this one: http://www.omni-bot.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=63
Or get newest from there repo: https://www.assembla.com/spaces/omnibot/trac_subversion_tool

Edit: Also you can install Omnibot in two ways, either use omnibot as the mod, or use another mod, and omnibot library…

I suppose you want to run another mod with omnibot… see here:

THanks for such an accurate and fast response !

You were right I had the wrong Omnibot files …

So now I can launch the server with my bots on it.

That’s great, However I now have an other problem…

I connected to my server with my other PC, downloaded the Omnibot files necessary, connect for 1 sec then get kicked for : Unpure client detected. Invalid .PK3 files

I’ve tried reconnecting, running as admin, still doesnt work. Any idea’s ? Is it a version problem ?

Seems to be linked with : Omni_bot.pk3

The error is what is says :stuck_out_tongue:

You need to check that the pk3’s which are for download, are the same as they are on the actual server.

But there are many more reasons which can trigger this… at first you should just try to connect again, and see if that fixes it. Then you know the pk3’s are not the cause… Next maybe try searching for the issue in this forum:)

I have tried reconnected, restarting etc.

Can you manage to connect ? :

I’ve downloaded the files from the server but still…

Anyhow, Will do a bit more digging on the internet

EDIT------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can join the server vie my linux PC (the server host) but not via my game PC. I tried patching the server up to 2.6b Linux, still do changes. I’ve deleted the OMnibot pk3 files, and redownloaded them, nothing has changed. I can join my server if I launch it without bots, but with them active I cant…

I don’t know what to do…

I see you are running Omni-bot etmain mod. It might be bugged, try to run ETPub with Omni-bot libraries and see if the problem still occurs.

(Shurtgal) #7

Ok, I will try that !
