Yup…
Unless Nexon had the control on them and were basically telling the devs to twiddle their thumbs and sit on their hands…I don’t know if I see development speeding up a whole lot…especially since they’re working towards this transition.
The only current promise is the anti-cheat change and the forum merger. Anything else people are talking about is an assumption without any evidence until it happens.
they’ve been working towards this since before November, they even announced it then, but I seemed to be the only one to notice even after I pointed it out. it is to LOL
@Nail I assume, you mean this
"lol, too bad you missed the ACTUAL IMPORTANT part:
“What I can say is it’s not quite true that’s it’s our game and we can do what we want right now, but we have something big to announce very shortly that will change all that.”"
well, it isnt so far fetched, that this post meant the split from Nexon. But your arrogance to claim
they even announced it then, but I seemed to be the only one to notice even after I pointed it out. it is to LOL
is almost laughable. I know you are close with SD, so I dont know if you had additional information. But for people just reading this statement it is first of all just one of many “soons”. Because this is what most announcements of SD are: Just “soons” with no follow up.
I guess a lot of people made the connection of SD splitting from Nexon. But there was no way for knowing it as a fact. Especially when there was a rumor that there was some other company still owning parts from really early days of DB (before Nexon).
Maybe 2017 will compensate the horrendous last year of dirty bomb with that change
SDK?! I WANT SDK!!!
Basically this split opens up more options for SD to do with Dirty Bomb. The game has a lot more potential despite not seeing immediate changes.
Is this the reason why we haven’t seen new content in a year? Because SD knew they would break things with Nexon and didn’t want to publish content while Nexon was taking it’s share as a publisher? I mean this kind of deal probably took a decent amount of time to draft and plan. SD could have decided to wait on releasing mercs and other stuff that brings in revenue until the deal is finished. Hopefully content starts to pour in now. Anyway be my speculation true or not i think this is going to be a step in right direction. All aboard the hype train
There are a lot of assumptions in this thread. Just know that most people do not know the details and are lead towards assumptions through their own hype. A lot of you want DB to get better because we all want DB to get better but don’t use that excitement to immediately slam SD or Nexon. I know it’s a natural human instinct to do so but try to refrain.
Simply be respectful and be classy and move forward and hope that DB moves towards being a better game that will not only retain all of us who still play but bring in new people to enjoy a game that still doesn’t have an equal in gameplay on the market.
I think that Splash at this point has no more excuses except for time, team size, etc
Nexon isn’t behind the scenes pulling strings anymore, Splash Damage can make this game realize it’s full potential, and I fully believe they can do it.
I understand where you’re coming from Amerika, but I think they can do this. So yes, I am fairly hyped. XD
best announcment Comes from smooth in the warchest forum:
"We are looking in to a system for ‘Community Rented Servers’ via authorised Game Server Providers, however I can’t provide any sort of ETA at this point, sorry.
The idea behind ‘Community Rented Servers’ is that we’d allow the admins to set certain things like Server Name, Game Mode, Map List, Friendly Fire etc. and provide them with an Admin control for moderating players, teams, maps, restarts etc. Enough control to let them make their server their own and build a community around it, something that has been missing from Dirty Bomb so far. "
thats exactly whats needed to prvent this game from failing.

EXACTLY
It’s clear the only way things can work is we have community servers for pub play, so people can play with others within their own skill level, mindset, or whatever.
Ranked is matchmaking, for people who want to play seriously, but maybe can’t dedicate time to being on a team.
