Hey dogs. Had several matches with some fellow dogs in arms. Warm regards to Mr. @p0rn … ehh … that was later … @pr0nflakes and probably Mr. @refinedSorcerer /charon/ in game - i really like that name
We are hard trying to be “more” skilled to disbalance advantage of experience hehe
Ill post some screens later. Got some rocky games, but usually … ok, there is already several threads about “balance” in mmk. Read some of the @Amerika posts. You are so right man. I just dont understand - maybe im wrong - but. The new player, the player with 50+ or 70+ hours ingame means that hes “hooked” by game. During that time - he can get to lvl 20? … so and there comes the mixed lobbies. lvl 7 to 200. Im one of these low. Im reading ingame complaints of these new players. The problem is, that disbalanced are 9 of the 10 games. Doesnt matter if you win or lose. The high lvl players beats your ass out … by experience. And usual answer: “its a Skill or Dont whine”
Im curious - do they have (Splash Damage) any statistic on that? How many 50+ hour players are leaving? Bcs these players are the most valuable asset they got. And they are loosing it only because of lvl mix disbalance? … They are cooking some miracle balance Algorithm - nobody needs that. We need to play with close lvls. There are already many smurfs and phantom accounts - again skill declarators
- but - why not to make it to -40 and +40 ?
First, the low lvl will progress FASTER - and will be happy to play good matches. This is win-win situation. The players base will be growing faster - there will be sooner enough high (40+ or 50+) lvl players to be matched up. And make it both (all) ranked.
If the algorithm sent me to play (im 16 now) - to play with/against 60+ or 100+ or 200+ … and there is like 5 of these guys in every team - im the lowest lvl in game - ending up with very low xp etc. - so im rewarded for good performance by geting the lowest rewards possible??? So the good new players are progressing slowest? Its some strange logic im missing?
Old dogs for fun
there is already many therads about that. This was just mine loud thinking
I’m resurrecting this thread,
bringing it back from the dead.
With a new season of ranked,
youngbloods must be ganked.
Come to Discord and join the fight,
join your brothers late in the night.
If you’re past thirty and feeling old,
we welcome you all, into our fold.
Bring your rifle and bring your gun,
as pack of old dogs, we’ll have lots of fun.

I was one of the youngest members of a clan called Old Man Clan (our oldest members were in their 60’s most were in their 40’s) back in Tactical Ops: Assault on Terror, which was a mod for the original Unreal Tournament 99’. My First FPS was DooM on Dos with Windows 3.1.Here is a pic from back then,
It would be awesome if Dirty Bomb employed a similar system to the TOST Hitparade results screen at the end of every round.
OMC with 2.2 Weapons mod. Man I played there a lot.
Nice to see some of you have found DB.

(I have too much time on my hands…)
You do but atleast your using it for something.
The time draws near for ranked season four,
and the OLDOG clan is stronger than before.
Our skin is wrinkled and our hair is grey,
the dogs of war are hunting youngblood prey.
This time around we want trinkets of gold,
cobalt is nice, but for that we’re too old.
With gun in hand and one foot in the grave,
we still need more dogs to join the brave.
So put your kids to bed and kiss your wife,
you been called to war with guns and knife.
We still have room for more dogs in the team,
if you feel like an OLDOG, just add me on steam.

I’m 25, but we are still same material from Big Bang. Some material never grow up.
technically doesnt that mean Shoe isnt an oldog considering he’s around level 24 :V
Ah … the good old days of the Spectrum 48k playing Jet Set Willy or Manic Miner… that’s if you managed to load those screeching games via yer tape recorder (RIP if yer volume wasn’t set perfect) … Wait What, nah it mustv’e been a dream, i forget how old i am
I didn’t have the Spectrum, but I had a Commodore 64. I remember dreaming of owning a floppy drive, so I didn’t have to fiddle with that effing tape player. Spending an obscene amount of time waiting for the game to load, just to have it fail… Ah the memories. I still have those loading lines burned on my retina.
EDIT: This was the first video game system I owned, before I got the C=64

At least our TRS-80 had a ROM-pack slot for games B)
Although we also had the dreadful tape recorder for a while until we got a floppy unit… Grand old days…
As far as I remember the TRS-80 was only succesfull in the UK. Wasn’t there some kind of sponsoring in british schools so every pupil could get one?
Best joystick ever:
PS: Posting on this forum with FF seems to be broken
I am 33 yrs soon and I loved gun smoke on NES. Played a lot of wolfenstein : ET until the point where it almost killed my studies. But I managed to pass and I am now on my doctoral degree in chemistry
i learnt my lesson, DB is not hindering me too much
My earliest system was the Amstrad CPC 464. Used to play it in hotels with my brothers when my parents went to work events. If we were well behaved we also used to wake up with packs of Pokemon cards underneath our pillows. Those were the days.
