Actually, I will. I’ve been a DICE fan since Modern Combat.
Battlefield is an amazing franchise and I’ve defended each Battlefield’s merits fairly. However, DICE hasn’t been able to capture in on making the teamwork between players viable on Day one the same as SD has. For example, BC and BC2 we’re both great team games, but it wasn’t stressed enough and you had medic only healing themselves, Ammo only being given to themselves, and a swath of recon players using a sniper rifle from three bases away.
The last three Battlefield installments on consoles have been summarized by, “This is a team game!..but only if you want to.” There were more than enough effective ways to lone-wolf, and many people in BC2 still don’t even join a squad.
SD took that idea, looked at the playerbase and said, “No, %*# you, you’re going to play as a team and you’ll bloody like it.” That, to me, is what a team game should be.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love DICE…I just love Splash Damage a bit more now…
I totally concur, very much the exact way i feel. I played BFBC2 like a religion up until Brink and still plan to play with the ton of friends i have made on it, but this game is a team based objective shooter to the core!!!
Certainly we could use a few more of these.
