Okay. I’m going to Mod my original post.
I didn’t mean to start a flamewar, but looking back, I see this was asking for one =(
Lobster, I wish I was in some of those games.
Right now, with the influx of new players, the people are worse than the bots. -.-
Yeah, I think that is more to do with people skipping the intro tutorials and that translates to clueless non-contributing players. When I was trying the game during the steam sale, I skipped the tuts as I wanted to get into the action right away, as I’m sure the majority of people do. I had no idea what I was doing, where to go and was just running around trying to kill people. Hell, I didn’t even know there was an objective wheel until the last day of the free weekend. I started to hate the game quickly and was going to give up on it, but for some odd reason I stuck with it and eventually learned how to play properly and started to actually enjoy the game.
What this game should of had were in game tutorial huds, something similar to Left 4 Dead game. For instance, when you play a special character for the first time, a hud pops up explaining how to use and play the class properly, etc. If Brink had something similar, like when you play your first game, you get a popup explaining how to use the objective wheel and set objectives for yourself. Or when you change your class, it gives you a popup with what the classes main goals are and how to play it properly. These popups would eventually go away after the player reads them a few times.
I think what I stated above is why a lot of people don’t get into the game and leave, simply because they don’t know what the heck is going on. They just don’t understand the mechanics of a game like this, as it’s definitely a new style of gameplay for a lot of people. No one wants to sit and watch 5 tutorial videos on how to play a game. People want to get into the action right away and learn on the fly, or as they get experience they learn along the way.
Everything that was fixed has been so minimal that modders could have done it in a few days if they were given access to it.
And its taking months to get SD on its feet. There’s still no future about Brink at all at this point. The DLC, which was already being worked on before the game came out, was delayed for 2 months.
I’m sorry but SD has done nothing impressive with this game at all post launch. The active players resemble this. The free weekend and dlc did nothing for this game because the core game still has problems.

They should have used the ‘Be more objective’ should have been the tutorial…
It was fun and simple.
That’s funny you say that, because if you watch one of the the tutorial videos, you can see the bayonet attachment in the video. I’m assuming these tutorials were in the game when it launched, so it would prove they had the DLC way before the game even came out, or at least some of it. Pretty shady if you ask me.
Edit: If anyone is interested to see it, youtube video here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-VClFgi-rw#t=0m35s
Yeah theres a bunch of promo shots and early media showing people in clothes that aren’t in the game at all. SD had this all planned out with the dlc. If the files weren’t locked down and modders went through them I wouldn’t be surprised if people found content that’s locked.
But oh well, I just hope SD can somehow salvage whats left with this game and meet pc players with an SDK. Even though it’s probably too late for people to care to do anything with it at this point.

The other team was nowhere to be found near the objectives until after we completed them and not pushing at all. Here’s hoping some time cures all ills of lack of know-how. Lots of new folk. Takes time.
I was in that game W/ the party. Sec tower. It was way too easy to hack when there was no one even trying to stop us. I felt kinda bad for the Security players.

Wow. I didn’t see the bayonet.
Good call guys, I feel dumb.
Apparently the DLC WAS there before the launch of the game, or at least SOME of it.
go play tf2. its fast (as a scout), it has sandwiches and hats.
no rage quitting there, ever.
oh, wait. your a console player, right? sorry about that. you have to stick with brink, cod and bfbc2.

Pretty uneducated opinion
the last paragraph is pretty accurate actually…
