Okay. 2 things. Epic Fail is #1, reexperiencing black ops #2

(Kurushi) #21

All opinion.

Then you compare the player count of cheapo 2D adventure game to a full price 3D FPS. lol :frowning: Can I have some of what you’re smoking?

If you look at the steam player stats there really isn’t many FPS in that list apart from CoD and Valve games. Games anyone can play. Brink isn’t an instant pick up and play game and will never match the player numbers of those kind of games.

If you like CoD so much I can see why you don’t like Brink, that’s fine, just leave us to it…
what you say is just dumb! How old are you?

It’s a duty of devlopers test the game before the release. And it’s stil a duty of developers write on the box about anomalies and bugs. (examples: the game needs a connection to the internet or ATI owners could have a bad framerate experience during the game.)
But the problem is that those things come out when u test a game and the game is still undone so how can we pretend they tested it?

Fanboys. … … … Soon you will be the only ones in these forums, virtually blowing each others and spending generous words about this cool game that only you and maybe the devs please.
I find you extremely rude and uninformed of game development practices. Age wise (not that this is at all relevant) I am over 30 and I work as a developer (not in the game industry though) so I actually know how things are tested and QA’ed.

What you obviously don’t realise is that the game works just fine on almost all ATI cards and only a few models are still affected. It is financially impossible to test the game on all available hardware so all you can do is test on a good selection and then trust the hardware manufacturers to maintain certain standards across their own product.
SD talked to ATI as soon as issues were raised and ATI has brought out new versions of their drivers that fix a fair number of their OpenGL bugs. The fault still lies with ATI for not maintaining a certain standard across their range of cards.

And I don’t consider myself a “fanboy” (although I understand how you want to brush away opposing viewpoints by calling people derogatory names). I know the game has issues but I still enjoy the bits that work fine.

Your argument is quixotic. Learn to base your points in reality.
but while black ops is one of most played games, brink is gonna die again…

in black ops the engine is still the modified tech 3 : yes can u imagine?
in black ops you hit what you aim: wow incredible in a fps
Hey guess what? In black ops there are more than 1 type of game. CTF, TDM, S&D.
iN BLACK OPS your ping is stable and there is a very good antilag. You can ping 200 that you still hit!
Weapons are really different from each other. In Brink the feeling is the same for all.
The game is fast even if your fov is 80 … so it’s not only a sensation.
The game is really smooth. In brink everything is artefact
mAPS OF BLACK OPS ARE SPECULAR and this way balanced.
If you play objective gam in BO, you know exactly what you have to do even if you never played it. In brink everything is confusing people cause there are 800 mini objectives to do before you achieve the primary one.
HERE ISNT BUGGY SMART.

And i could go on for a hour or so but in black ops… but i am tired to repeat what already people said…
and i want to teach you something.
The graphic is not important, even a **** graphic game can beat brink. It not important what time is, if a game is pleasant, people play it

And, I don’t play a game for graphics.

Here’s a game that’s better than all of these, made by one guy.

Dwarf Fortress

Go play it. If you get a fort to last for more than 2 years in game on first round, your epic.

A computer and the game of life were made on it. It will kill your computer.

I’m just saying, that they really kept tricking the audience in mind. I know the rhett is a polygon trick, but it works. Black Ops had a much higher budget and failed polygon wise.

Another reason I hate Black ops is claymores. I’m partially colorblind so I don’t see the lasers. =(

(snoopycat) #24

Black Ops and Brink are both horrible. Played Black Ops for a month. Thought ewww. Traded. Played Brink for 2/3 weeks. Yawned. Discarded it.

(RabidAnubis) #25

Discarded it?

What does that mean? That sounds like something from yuh-gi-yoh! (Fail spell?)

(snoopycat) #26
Discarded it?

Jesus. Get an education you illiterate retard.

(RabidAnubis) #27

I know what the word means bro. I just don’t hear that term often when it comes to games.

I don’t play black ops, doesn’t mean I discarded it.

Why didn’t you just say sell or trashed it.

(Unfurl3dRelic) #28
no i am saying that nobody plays brink
Isnt that easy?
By saying nobody plays Brink, you’re saying it’s an inferior game. You basically said that CoD: Black Ops is better than Brink. And while I still enjoy BO, I like Brink as well.

(Codine) #29

Well, in its current state I’d say Blops is better than Brink atm. Since day 1 Brink has had potential. Has SD actually done anything to make the potential into something real?

Nope.

Right because every other piece of software ever made ships completely bug free and with no bad interactions with other pieces of software. I mean you just know they have a testing pool deep enough to test every possible action and permutation of player choice to make sure that all the hundreds of lines of code in the software all function flawlessly in relation to one another. I mean come on if all the other software companies in the world can mange to consistently deliver flawless products then so should game manufacturers right? /sarcasm

What do you think they’ve been doing since launch? Constant fixing

(RabidAnubis) #32

Yeah…

I think they should focus on the PC community more, they sort of let down their old fans.

I don’t think that is good, the consoles already have a good game, they should fix it for the PC.

(MrFoxer) #33

Can someone please translate the entire first post into proper english?

Stop comparing a staple franchise in it’s sixth or seventh iteration with huge budgets to Brink, a new IP developed with no previous experience on consoles… it is simply unfair to do this.

(lobster) #38

Really? Comparing Brink to COD, lol. I have about 70hrs in COD, and while it’s a decent game, there is absolutely no teamwork. Regardless of what game mode you play, it’s all just a bunch of people running around in circles trying to accumulate the best k/d ratio. Every mode feels like deathmatch or team deathmatch to me, don’t get me wrong, it can still be a decently fun game.

Brink on the other hand is more team oriented. As soon as you join a pub, you’re being passed supplies and buffs. Teammates camping on heal beacons, engineers fixing your turret while you’re waiting on a spawn timer, medics reviving you, teammate covering you while you run for cover to regain hp, etc. This to me is more fun than a k/d ratio. When a team oriented game is firing on all cylinders, it’s such an amazingly fun experience. When I say “firing on all cylinders”, I mean when both sides are both contributing to their teams and it’s a back and forth battle the entire map, these games put a huge smile on my face.

(RabidAnubis) #39

Lobster, I wish I was in some of those games.

Right now, with the influx of new players, the people are worse than the bots. -.-

(kaydawg135) #40

This reminds me of of alpha protocol vs splinter cell conviction all over again except it’s brink vs cod. Same type of review scores but people who played AP seem to like it better.

In alpha protocol I felt more like an real agent vs being more of action hero than a agent. In brink I felt whatever class I chose felt like that class and would made more fun was I can specialize in it in different ways that could make a difference in battles and the fact that I have to put thought into the wepeons that I choose is makes it fun as well. In brink I can have the least amount of kills in a match and still be effective unlike cod I’m kinda force into soldier mode and forced into action which isn’t any fun imo.

Maybe I’m an nitche gamer who likes games like this I don’t know but I’m enjoying brink and that’s what matters to me.
