hmmm if that is the problem… then guess what? there is GASP A SUPPORT AND TECHNICAL HELP sub-forum. ask for help there… who knows you might find out HOW TO FIX IT! rather than waiting to have the fix forced by a patch…
one of my friends was having problems getting things to work… so i looked on the support forums, found a thread about a similar issue… and guess what? it had the fix for the problem IN THE THREAD. so now said friend is playing brink.
as there were no requests for help or anything else here, this thread is perceived as nothing more than unreasonable whining.
and for what it is worth yes i do believe it is perfectly reasonable to expect a game to be playable on release… what is UNREASONABLE is not calling other devs on their screw-ups. again, blops being unplayable for 2 WEEKS after release on the pc, half of the time with the devs there denying there was even a problem. or fallout new vegas. one of the buggiest released games in recent memory. yet it is highly likely that you will go out and buy the next cod with no questions asked, and then complain only a little when things don’t work.
if you blindly accept the problems of an established franchise simply because it is established, when by all rights it SHOULDN’T have those problems… essentially being the same game released every year under a different title… (same engine slightly tweaked mechanics, new “story”, “new” maps), then yes. it is COMPLETELY unreasonable for you to expect a brand-new-ip to be flawless on release.
at this point i am not saying that we should blindly accept games as they’re given to us. i am merely saying that for such expectations of perfection in terms of bugs and the like, that one must be EQUALLY annoyed with ALL bugs in ALL games. for in ignoring the bugs found in one franchise, while calling a new ip on some of its bugs, doesn’t make you observant or a savvy consumer. it merely makes you a hypocrite.
