i have tried searching but it isn’t working

what is a leak and how do u stop them :???: :???:

Search more. This has been covered many times.

A leak is where entities from your map can touch the outside void, you need to cover the hole.

Graham, i think he means that he cant search because the search funtion is broken…
google would probably help him tho… but ok, ill try to explain it:

Think of your map as a giant box.
In this box, you pour water, untill its entirely full.
If your box is closed, the water will stay in,
but if your box is not closed, the water will leak out.

This is essentially a leak in your map, a hole into “space”.

Your map should always be closed with structural brushes. Detail brushes won’t close your map.

This means you could always simply build a square around your map. This will indeed stop the leaking, BUT if you were not paying close attention while mapping, it could be that the leak was not a tiny leak but a huge hole in your map, where players can go through!

So the best way to solve it is just compile your map, then look at the red line which appears.
Follow it closely and look where it enters space and/or leaves your map where it shouldn’t.
If you found it, close it up with a structural brush. Then compile again and look for the next leak spot. (or you could go Misc -> Next leak spot, but this doesnt work with me for some reason)

I hope this helps you

I’ll grant that search is broken but use google or yahoo or something else.
