Oh jeez..... Brink preview in XBW360

(tokamak) #21

Indeed, one of the main points the game was being sold on was that it would lower the bar for people to play together and against each other. If that’s what the game is being criticised on then I know that it won’t affect the hardcore players but it does indicate problems in this cursed ‘accesibillity’ which has been droned by the devs across the forums.

(Linsolv) #22

Lowering the bar from where ET:QW set it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s accessible to your average player.

(BiigDaddyDellta) #23

I don’t think there’s anything to worry about. Game reviews can be bias and from everything i’ve heard SD knows what they’re doing AND i’ve religiously watched every gameplay video I can find and there’s nothing I can physically see that looks even a little bit bad or boring at all. Maybe a bit repetitive but that’s why there’s what if and challenges and free play. Hopefully some expansions at some point bethesda is usually good for that, there will be plenty of goodness coming out of this title something much different from anything we’ve seen thus far and that alone is fun as hell.

(trigg3r) #24

seems to me the reviewer didn’t even get to play the full game, it’s probably more like a late preview than an actual review.
Anyway, i don’t think it’s a reason enough to panic.
The guy was probably butthurt that he works for an xbox magazine and had to play the PS3 version

(iheartchainsaw) #25

Lol they just called it a “hands on session”. This is stupid and not even a review.

that’s what i thought, it’s not even a review.
it was from that time like a month ago or so when splash damage invited a bunch of journalist to test the game, it wasn’t even the full game. I remember we got a bazillion previews and most of them were possitive with some exceptions, this is probably one of them.
ppl just like to make a mountain out of a molehill

WHO WANTS HILLS WITH MOLES? When you can have a mountain with tapirs!?

As far as the topic goes… I don’t put much weight in a single review, preview or recommendation. It will only deter or intrigue me if not only reviewers but forums like this agree that it’s good or bad. Which rarely happens.

Who really lets one person make up their mind for them? Not to mention a collective thought from a forum holds more weight than a couple of reviews.

(badman) #28

This isn’t a review but a preview, and this isn’t an actual score. Will adjust topic title to clarify.

(PariahDog) #29

Xbox games automagically get a -2 to their review score for not being Call of Gears of Halo so take the review with a pound of salt.

(Mustkunstn1k) #30

Good to see this thread getting fixed. Not sure if it is OP’s fault or someone from the other forums… but we should try to avoid these kinds of things…

(jegis) #31

Link to the thread?

lol

(Shadowcat) #32

wouldn’t a pound of salt kill you?

But anyway, i would also like to see the source, because if its a preview, where are they getting their information from? Also curious about a more specific reason for the dislike. Most information sources I have seen, even skeptical ones, are interested in finally getting their hands on the game to try it out.

(naedae) #33

well… wny would they review a preview makes no sense…
so im sure thats what they re going to give the game

(iheartchainsaw) #34

It not a review its a preview and the number is for how much they are anticipating for it based on the ONE lvl they played. No need to get defensive just cause you made a misleading thread.

(naedae) #35

i dont think this thread is misleading at all since the title got changed smart @$$.

also… look at the date of the preview. its very recent . your saying SD changed some of the things 3 weeks before launch? ur very indenial kid.

to the rest of you guys. im sorry, this just scares me a little bit. although it wasnt there official review, it was a recent preview which will probably reflect to the overal product. i really want this game to be good because no other FPS’s are coming out in the near future. i just dont like how people nerd rage after i wrote that. i apologize.

(Linsolv) #36

It doesn’t reflect the overall product. How much time do you think they have to spend with the game? I know that in every game I’ve played, there are maps that I hate. For instance, in BC2, it’s Harvest Day. I hate Harvest Day. Every time I play it, I have a bad time playing BC2. Now, if I went to an event, and they had Harvest Day as the “demo map” and I got to spend 20-30 minutes playing Harvest Day and then a Q&A session, I’d leave hating BC2. Even though, if they’d given me ANY OTHER MAP I would’ve liked it.

I’m not saying that’s the case here, but it’s certainly possible.

In addition to what Linsolv said…Why is that reviewers(or previewers) word more important to you than mine, your neighbor or your dogs?

(Realirony) #38

I’ll say here what I said in another thread. Basing whether you’ll like a game or not on the opinion of someone who is paid to do §reviews is useless. If you care more about what someone else believes about something more than what you believe (based on your own experience) then you are more of a sheep than previously thought. I just never understood any of my friends that would be wary about going to see a movie or getting a game based solely on what they read some kid wrote in a magazine. Test it out yourself (which is who you’re buying it for right? lol) then make your own decision. Stop letting other people think for you and you’ll be happier d=(’-’)z

(Kabarka) #39

This month’s hands-on session was PS3 code only, and if it’s an indicator on how the game is going to run on xbox360, it’s neither as smooth nor good looking as the videos suggest.

This worries me! pls don’t tell me Ps3 is getting the worst version(again), i can understand a little difference between versions but i truly hope that SD made it so it is barely noticeable.

(Shadowcat) #40

your best bet is finding a few reviewers who have the same opinions you do, and focusing on them. You can find bad reviews for anything if you look deep enough.
