Oceania Comp Missions.

(GottaBeGreg) #1

I propose that we remove the Oceania Mission for Competitive mode because there is simply not enough of a competitive playerbase to actually find a match.
Currently everyone that I know who plays in Aus/ Nz gets the mission and immediately removes it, as they know they just cant do it. This is totally justified as I have only gotten 1 competitive match ever in Aus and I have certainly done my fair amount of trying. I just want to gauge how many other poeple in Aus and Nz also feel this way.

I personally hate seeing all those potential credits going down the drain…

Just find North American/European servers.
Hit detection is client sided, only projectiles get affected by the ping.

(neverplayseriou) #3

Join eu xD even with 500+ ping you’ll do good since half of the people there just want the credits too :stuck_out_tongue:

(GottaBeGreg) #4

Its ridiculous that we should have to go so far out of our way just to complete a mission. Playing those matches is unenjoyable as hell and they have shown they are willing to remove mission types with their removal of secondary missions, so why are we forced to do a thoroughly unenjoyable match just for a stupid mission…

(gg2ez) #5

I don’t even play comp because the AU/NZ player base is so low. It takes like >30 minutes to find a match.

(terminal) #6

Unenjoyable as hell?
Unless you’re worse than them, then yeah, it would be unenjoyable as hell.
but I don’t see any other factors that would make it unenjoyable as hell to play on different server when Hit detection is all client sided.

(GottaBeGreg) #7

Ping is a thing. And it does affect us, we rubberband and it isnt enjoyable, not to mention it takes ages to find any game whatsoever, be it in Aus or Na, as the servers seem to have some aversion to the Australians.

Just to clarify, this discussions is more for poeple who are in Aus to share, as we are the ones affected by it.

I play from Asia to NA servers just fine without any rubberbands.

But I bet your country doesn’t have the one of the worst networking systems in the world. We still use fibres and lowG wireless.

Aimpunch really screws over the player with the higher ping as you need to have impeccable reaction time.

Okay yeah, Taiwan actually does have great internet, just moved here actually. But that’s not why you guys rubberband.
You only get rubberbands if you’re playing wirelessly. Just hook the modem up to your computer and the rubberbanding should stop.

I play wirelessly just fine with a max ping of 40, unless some unexpected hiccup happens

(GottaBeGreg) #14

Yes congratulations Asia, you have better internet than Aus and Nz. And please stop making assumptions about how I use my internet I am wired and plan on remaining wired, it doesn’t change the fact that when I play in EU and NA servers I get bad connection and thus rubber band. This extends not only to me but to the rest of Aus and Nz a lot of the time, as not all of us get amazing connections. I would also like to ask @terminal , why are you so against this change? I am only asking for this to be the case in Aus, not Asia. This won’t affect you.

(CCP115) #15

There is also the case of others being affected by ping. Noone likes getting shot behind corners. It just feels off as well, doesn’t matter where the hit detection is, it just doesn’t feel as good.

Also New Zealand internet is kind of worse than Australia’s.

(GottaBeGreg) #16

Hehe, I know right. Damn Aussies with their good internet. How dare they have a 2 mb or more per second download speed when I can’t even get to 1…

Sorry lads!

(GottaBeGreg) #18

Ehh you can’t help it. Just enjoy it for us.

(avidCow) #19

I’m lvl20 and unranked because it’s hopeless waiting for MM. Rather play min-lvl 10 servers but they only last for one or two matches before everyone bails (I think some feelings get hurt!) <3

(GottaBeGreg) #20

I really should have made this a poll… oh well, I can probably still get an appropriate gauge of how everyone feels towards this anyways.
@avidCow Yeh there really is no point… even in peak times finding a game is the equivalent to getting a Cobra to drop. It just ain’t gonna happen.
