OBS stream and NGS incompability

(zivs) #1

Nexon’s elite “anti cheat” software thinks that the OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is some sort of security threat. I know that something like that also happens with NVidia’s ShadowPlay, but I seem to be unable to find any solution to that (or just looking wrong direction?).

The question is - will these absurdly stupid “security threats” will be fixed out of the box someday or Nexon will continue ignoring them and force users use not what they want but North, tfu, I mean South Korean office rats want?

Also - any solutions to make NGS think that OBS is not a damn threat to it?

Is this a problem with OBS actually running in the background, or is it when you start streaming

My best guess is that the way OBS hooks in using either window capture or game capture could be causing problems, try switching the one in which you use to display dirty bomb in the stream and see if you still get problems

If that doesn’t work either, maybe a raw monitor capture using OBS might be possible

Side Note: Nexon is still working hard on this anti-cheat but it’s early days, they need to filter out the good from the bad and identify common traits or odd programs that hackers may be using

It happens with OBS simply idling in background.

This dont happen too me with OBS

People get the NGS violation error when NGS crashes. Not because there is a program running. I get the NGS error without OBS running and I get it with OBS running. Hopefully it will be fixed at some point soon.

Well, seems like the problem for me exists only with stable 0.12.0 version, but not with latest 0.655 beta version.

I was streaming with stable one for an hour and nothing happened.
But when using shadowplay it crashes 1/2 times.
