Objectives too exposed ?

hello this is my first post in these forums , ive been playing since day 1 of the open beta that might not mean much but ill try to explain my point as best i can , so one thing ive always noticed is that objectives have 0 cover to safely cap one whether that is placing some c4 or simply trying to disable one you are standing there in the open with a big “pls kill me” sigh hanging from your neck. witch comes with its own problems, the main thing i don’t feel makes much sense is that teams defending have all the advantages and the game rewards camping, now i don’t play competitive and i know this is a team based shooter but that’s whats wrong with it lol you cant ask a bunch of strangers to work with each other to flank the enemy team or flush them out with explosives, all they do is run into a wall of bullets till the timer runs out, what i suggest is make the objectives a bit more secure im not saying close them off to the defending team just place some cover so the defenders have to move those lazy bums and actually play the game not camping simulator lol that would make it a bit more easy to get objectives with out getting ripped a new one by gun fire hopefully we see changes to that what do you guys think ?

You can plant/defuse/repair from quite a distance, give it a try! Terminal for example, people always seem to plant in corners and because of this you can easily defuse from the safety of the tunnel.

Actually this game has quite a bit of spawncamping atm because the defenders quite often move forward into the attackers spawn and continuously shut them down. The only place where I have see a ton of camping is on Bridge(both the first and final objective) but that makes sense for the amount of cover they provide and the type of objectives they are.

If a defending team was simply camping the objective AND won the match they actually kind of did you a favor by not stomping you into the dirt 3 seconds out of your spawn. :frowning:

I love the current objective spots. Teamwork is definetely needed to plant and defuse bombs. Even pushing the EV takes teamwork.

More safety around objectives won’t give you any advantage. Safety is safety for both sides in this game. Once the defenders will take back the position, you’ll be unable to protect it from being defused. Or worse, you won’t even plant if they defend on point. The thing is, putting more protection around objective won’t allow sweep from afar with main guns. This is very important right now to take then hold objectives nicely. Therefore, more cover around objectives will turn them into dreadful explosive spamfest salads, which is already an issue in this game with friendly fire off in any choke points.

Very good point! While I think some objectives are quite fine (underground last stage is one of the best obj areas in the game imo), we definitely lack well-covered objectives like W:ET Oasis anti-tank guns, or ETQW Island dish.

It would be very welcome to include at least a few objectives that provide good cover: thus forcing defenders to keep someone back, or allow attackers to make a sneak/quick plant, and putting the ball in the defender’s court. Conversely, defenders can try to push attack back and use the exact same cover to defuse C4, etc.

Most of the objectives in this game require you to kill the majority of the enemy team before proceeding - rather than pushing them back/forcing them to pick a side/sneaking in and forcing a response.
