Objective Wheel Question

(Realirony) #1

Did a quick search of the forum and didn’t really find my question or answer for that matter. If it does exist, excuse my madness here.

I was watching through all the vids again and I noticed that in all the Vids where someone is Incap-ed you choose to “wait for medic” and it’ll show you the que in the box of how many medics are on their way to revive you.

I plan on rolling Medic for the majority of my time starting off. Will I have to highlight “Revive Teammate” in the objective wheel, to get the medic que to 1 in my Incap-ed teammate’s box (and receive the EXP for that revive) or can I just point, see an Incap-ed teammate and toss him a syringe without being told to by the wheel, or having to use the wheel to que it up?

I know the answer is probably “yea, you can revive anyone without having to pick it outta the objective wheel” but i was just wondering why it was in the objective wheel to begin with if not for some purpose or another.

And I guess any other class for that matter. Will you be able to perform any Objective action without previously selecting it from the Objective Wheel. Or do you have to que it up in the wheel to get exp from the action or to convey to your team the action.

You don’t need to select the revive from the OW, you can revive at will.

The OW can be used to show newer players what they should be doing and point them in the right direction, it’s not a requirement or necessity to do any of the objectives. The gains are that the objective with be indicated on your screen in the game world, and you’ll get a smidgen more XP for choosing it… other than that you can go through the whole game without ever touching the OW at all.

You don’t have to use the objectives wheel for reviving. Although it probably does end up as an objective.

As far as getting on the “En-route” list without using the wheel:
I discussed it in this thread: http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24248
People seem to be knowing that you can just look at the downed player, tap the objectives button, and it become an objective.

sounds good. I assumed so but was just unsure as they have played up the Wheel in all their SMART vids as of late.

I think it become your top objective so all you would have to do it up d pad or the equivalent for what system your on. I saw this in one of the newer trailers I think.

I believe this is the case also
It was said something like this, “You’ll get extra XP for completing active objectives”

From watching gameplay it seems like you get 75xp for handing out syringes and then another 100xp if they actually get used
No idea how much the “extra” might be though, 10% maybe?

EDIT: Mustkunstn1k’s post shows an extra 2xp for selecting a revive objective (so more like 3% extra)

I would think that the “Medic to revive” counter for incapacitated players would be based on the number of medics who have selected revive as their objective from the wheel.

Obviously selecting the revive objective benefits your teammates since they know you are on your way to them, so it would be preferable to do so. I think with the autochatter you will be able to clearly hear when someone goes down, and be able to instantly select the revive objective. Doing so will become instinctive and habitual after a few days play imo.
