So I get 500 credits for 4500 Game Mode XP? This is the worst deal for these types of missions. Game Mode XP is extremely limited. Usually there are always people fighting to be the carrier, plant C4, etc. just for the normal XP reward. Even if you count on the secondaries you are definitely in for multiple games. Anyone can support and anyone can fight at all times but even if you use a proxy, bushwacker, etc, usually there are multiples per team so you are going to share. Even though the requirements for this mission are lower, I still think it is too high. The only advantage is you rack up 500xp for just showing up, but that might encourage more bad behavior than good…
Ideas?
Objective Monkey Game Mode XP Missions
Honestly I think they are more-or-less OK. The trick with them is simply to play the engineers and you should be able to complete it in under an hour (probably in about 3 games of objective depending on the map).
Just my 2-cents, as I tend to play Fletcher a lot anyways, so I never have a problem personally ^.^
Game mode XP missions can be annoying, especially for people like me that don’t exactly like the engineer mercs, but I still manage to get them done, typically a good way of doing so is getting Long Defense Bonuses, which I get often when playing Rhino because none shall pass! But even then it’s a slow process and annoying. I don’t think reducing the amount for these missions is the best strategy, but perhaps increasing the amount of actions that give it instead.
It’s really not that bad. Considering how fast a team can take out the EV, you often get multiple repair attempts on it. Alternatively, if you’re on the defending side, damage against the EV racks up game mode XP pretty easily too. Then there’s guard and escort XP that contribute a fair bit over the course of a game.
The worst is “10k combat XP”, that takes several matches.
Game mode is only slightly less easy than support XP. Just play stopwatch chapel to continiously nuke the EV while on defense, and repair it while on offense.
Either way, yes, the missions are quite bad for the game. It encourages losing on purpose to prolong the game so you can get more XP, as well as encouraging stupid play to be able to rush before somebody to get the XP.
It also forces you to play specific maps (chapel for game mode XP, underground for side objectives), which means people will leave as soon as a map is over, and effectively ruining the balancing of the teams and often times make the server die completely.
