Objective mode vs Stopwatch mode

I wasn’t sure where to post this because i wanted to compare the 2 game modes.

First off I feel as if objective mode should be a lot long, i mean it has no point in it right now. why play objective mode when i could play stopwatch and play the same objectives but i get to play both sides?
I feel as if stopwatch should be a shorter faster game mode for people to play with only a few objectives, and objective mode should be like a 30 min long match with a lot of objectives in a big map.
Because right now it kinda just feels like your throwing 2 things that are exactly the same just so there is an extra game mode.
I don’t know if you had plans to make the objective mode longer, but if you did this post was kinda a waste of time.

Objective mode servers 2 purposes:

  1. Allows for testing more maps in a shorter amount of time. This can be useful in a beta.

  2. More importantly, it’s the “casual” mode. For people who want to hop on for 20 minutes a night and don’t have time for both halves of Stopwatch. Objective mode is for them.

I agree with what youre saying but i think there could be some issues when it comes to having the teams balanced. Currently if there are two even teams on an objective server the fight can be huge and go on for a very long time. If the mode was changed to have bigger battles and more objectives, two even teams could be battling for 40 minutes or so. Might be too much for a lot of people

Because 90% of stopwatch matches are steamrolls by one side. At least in objective you only have to play 1 match against a superior team before they’re shuffled.

I only play Stopwatch because the maps tend to be defender-biased, and if both teams play both offense and defense then ultimately victory comes down to the skill of the players, not the skill of the map designers.

Mainly I play objective modes because of the missions, or I’m just hopping on to play for a short while, or I wanna try out new mercs or maybe I just don’t wanna be stuck with noobs for a long time like in stopwatch mode.
