Numeric "cooldowns"

(chippy) #1

I’m sure this have been brought up before but after a quick search I didn’t find anything about it.

When throwing anything that has a “cooldowns”, medpacks/ammo/medpacks/flashbangs/etc I’d love a timer on them instead of the bar.

“Airstrike ready in 5 seconds!” is clearer to your team rather than “Airstrike is at 50%!”

Just to make it clear what I mean, have a mockup:

I second this and think it’s a really good idea, in fact why not have the numbers over the progress bar to be even more helpful.

+1, agree. Number numbers > graphical bar representation

A bar looks more pretty from an aesthetics PoV, maybe have option in menu to select bar/number?

(Protekt1) #4

I’d prefer both, number inside the bar

(Volcano) #5

give us the option, have numbers, have a bar or have both

(Mustang) #6

+1, but health should also be a number not percentage.

(Seanza) #7

Health numbers before cooldown numbers, please

(pulley) #8

good idea chippy! They could change that with many other coutdowns… or the health bar…

(Rex) #9

Yeah, why not? Numeric indicators are especially needed for the objective progress bar on top of the HUD.

(Nail) #10

I agree with numbers rather than bars, it’s easier to process actual data than approximating a visual clue ie: green bar
especially for health/hit points and in combat

Sure. We’re doing a pass on HUD design right now, and we’re already designing it with numerical representations (on top of progress bars), so this fits pretty well with the changes we’re working towards. Good suggestion.

Yeah awesome suggestion. +1
