@saucyPattern And I bet they were all standing in the same place, like snipers in TF2.
Not OP, BUT REALLY ANNOYING
You see guys…this is why yall piss me off
45/20
And look at the rest of my team, only one guy had kills in the double digits.

Your team was bad, but you only got 45/20 as a Lv18 Nader… You probably shouldn’t shame them. :*
It’s quite possible some of them had never seen terminal before. Noobs gonna noob (I know I did).

I just facepalm every time when i see that kind of matches.
It really hurts my Arty
Literally with a model of - introduce new merc to game and make it free rotation to try - you are just asking to get mercs that come in strong, with imbalanced abilities, etc etc and then they slowly get nerfed over time ie. AFTER they leave free rotation and need to be bought.
Like proxy with the mines for example. Proxies mines on release were stupid. Like all mercs with shotguns that had spread. b4 they fixed that.
balance is ongoing. Any merc can experience the nerf (cricket)bat if a particular tactic/meta/strategy will become overpowered so much that it overshadows other aspects of the game.
Proxy experienced two nerfs (speed nerf, mine cooldown nerf) at the cost of HP buff (80->90 if i recall correctly).
To be honest, saying any of these changes had to do with free rotation and ‘luring people in to buy OP shit’ is pure BS and conspiracy-mongering. Fragger, still arguably the best merc in the game is pretty much for free atm. Wouldn’t they want to try to sell their most OP merc if what you say is true?
Sza, settle down mate. i did say its good that op unbalanced mercs get the eventual nerf.
My point is id prefer the devs to make newly introduced mercs balanced on the side of caution - if anything under powered. Make them really just ok and buff them down the track as needed.
atm the opposite is true to how we are seeing merc intro’s. Intro strong - nerf later.
As to why things are this way? I was drawing one conclusion. That is: one can point at market forces as a possible motivation for having things set up this way round. And lets face it the devs do need to turn a profit right?
As for your Fragger idea? Im not sure. How about Fragger is a honey pot. Even the best honey pot becomes routine after so many dips and so the bee looks for more - different - distractions. Did you here we are introducing a new merc soon?
im settled fine, thanks

I would rather balance changes happened when balance changes are needed, and not because of release timing, or really - anything else.
atm the opposite is true to how we are seeing merc intro’s. Intro strong - nerf later.
and I don’t concede that it is true. Many mercs got nerfs and buffs over the course of the last 2 years in development.
Since March,Nader first got buffed (better cooldown), then got nerfed (cancelable martyrdom), then got buffed&nerfed (more nades, but slower, better martyrdom) again; and then got buffed again (faster nades).
Arty, who was the first on free rotation ever, first got buffed (arty cooldown) ,then got buffed again (arty aiming shortened), and now we saw two nerfs in a row (dreiss ACC nerfs).
Aura - a free merc - first got a buff (hp station more resistant to explosives - by fixing a bug), then another nerf/buff (slow deploy but larger AoE).
Overall; balancing has nothing to do with when is a merc released, it is just more likely that a particular balance change will occur after free rotation - since more people got to play and data is more apparent.
During the current Vaseline player wave, we had one certain sniper, attacking the first point of Underground. He died 11 times in a row and got one kill the whole game, but he always, ALWAYS, walked left from spawn, stood on the pipe, scoped in, and got gunned down repeatedly. Now, I’m not this guy, but surely someone with a functioning brain would say “hold up a second, this isn’t working, maybe I should try a different approach?”
Nope.
Not this guy.
I really hate Nader right now. I never get killed by her Martyrdoms now. I DO get killed by her grenades. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I find really annoying Nader’s grenades.Getting blown up by Martyrdom is my fault for getting too close and I always forget about marty, but Nader’s grenades, they are so OP.I saw some guys using ONLY Grenade Launchers, and that’s like the Rhino’s minigun thing.I mean, developers gave you primary, secondary and melee weapons, and you only use miniguns and grenade launchers.
Unfortunately nader nade is another one of these “pandering to casuals” aka easy mode things.
In ET there was a nade launcher but it was a weapon of precision and skill. It had the same amount of ammo ish but each shot u had to prepare (a few second animation) slowing the rate of fire and if u had a nade enabled u couldnt shoot your primary. The splash was low.
The nade launcher in this has a very rapid rate of fire, and is a noob splash kill easy mode horrible addition to what should be a skill based SHOOTER.
DB is not a FPN
It’s not as if the nades one shot anyone with AoE, most of the damage done by nades, you do with directs. Splash is honestly worthless, you’re wasting too many nades for one person.

Wasn’t that a grenade rifle? Not a grenade launcher? Completely different concept…
it was a rifle that launched grenades.
ITs exactly the same concept in that the explodie thing when shot from the rifle goes thru the air and explodies and makes ouchies
spam and eggs is no one with FPS skills idea of fun

A grenade launcher is intended for saturation/suppression of a target with explosives.
A rifle grenade was simply to launch a grenade farther than possible when thrown by hand.
Martyrdom is so easy to avoid… can’t believe people actually complain about this.
nader is stupid. I dont care how but some kind of stupid nerf I love love i pray for a nerf.
