not kicking an aimbotter

(neverplayseriou) #1

can there maybe be done something about teams not kicking aimbotters, just had a game on chapel with a vassili just hitting every shot, he was literally wall jumping and even then hitting us saying he was to good for us scrubs (lol).

Can dirty bomb maybe give people time outs if they refuse to kick obvious hackers from their team? I’ts quite bothering seeing the enemy type “lol” when our entire team is accusing the vassili of aimbot…

(he already had 15k xp when his nearest teammate had 3k and we still had just about 5-6 more minutes to go and we had just gotten the ev under the bridge).

I thought that I had taken a screenshot but it seems that printscreen doesn’t work when pressing tab.

I suggest starting with: https://support-dirtybomb.nexon.net/hc/en-us/articles/204359619-How-do-I-report-a-hacker-

And secondly, yep I find this quite irritating too when the enemy team just laughs about a blatant hacker and won’t kick. I personally think it would be nice if the enemy team of the hacker could instigate vote-kicks too, because right now it’s purely biased of the enemy team.

At the end of the day though, if it’s just in a pub and it’s bothering you THAT much, just leave the match :L That’s what I tend to do… what’s a few thousand exp worth when some idiot is ruining the fun? Just find another server ^.^

How do you make a system like that? What is “obvious” to some people may not always be the truth. So you’ve got one person who thinks someone is hacking because they are extremely skilled, some vote no because they think he isn’t. Are they supposed to be punished? I am not saying that’s what happened here but you cannot punish legitimately skilled players or people who vote no because that is what they believe to be the case.

If you cannot get a vote kick to pass and you think someone is cheating, gather your evidence, leave the match and report them. You cannot force someone to be kicked and punish those who vote no just because you believe they’re cheating. Also use FRAPS, it’s free and can take screenshots, show FPS, record short vids.

Use F12 for ingame screenshots, those will be archieved by your steam and you will be able to chose to upload them.

Sadly ingame people tend to be d!cks. I have witnissed similiar situations quite often.
Even when you tell them how to vote etc, nope, nothing.

Collect evidence, leave game, report. Find a new match :slight_smile:

I just want to add that when I made the suggestion - it was simply a skeleton of an idea. Of course there are issues with it in regards to the possibility of kicking good players who aren’t hacking and leaving it open to abuse, so it would need a lot of thought put into it to come up with a foolproof system. As Splash Damage and Nexon have said many times, there is no “silver bullet” for anti-cheat measures xP

Even when fighting against a team that refuses to kick a cheater out is annoying, remember that sometimes things that are obvious for you might not be as obvious to your opponents.
Sometimes it’s hard to notice a cheater especially if (s)he is in your own team, but of course it’s most often easier to notice a cheater that is at opponent team.
It’s frustrating that “obvious” cheaters aren’t getting kicked out, but punishing whole team for that would be a bit harsh in my eyes. Those teams that are aware of a cheater and keep him/her anyways because of reason X, of course those teams are lame.
But also sometimes people just can’t agree with you and that’s why they vote against the kick.

If cheater will not get kicked out, the best thing you could do is recording the cheater and reporting that player to correct place. Faraleth already linked a place where you can get more info about reporting.

I’m so sick of low levels voting no to kick blatant cheaters. :expressionless:

(Mister__Wiggles) #8

Be careful what you post when its hacker related otherwise a mod will close your thread for breach of forum rules. If you suspect someone of cheating, record it or screenshot it and submit a ticket. On the subject of team mates not voting for the kick then yes, I agree it is annoying but some people will happily keep a cheat for an easy win.

(Backuplight) #9

This is the same problem as was mentioned in another thread. If the person is a blatant cheater, and the system knows that enough to be able to punish non-voters, it would just kick the cheater to begin with and we wouldn’t have an issue. The kick system does need work though, and I believe they said they’d be taking a look at it.

Imo the best thing to do right now is just find a new server, don’t stress yourself out about people not kicking and just jump straight into another match.

(Resine) #10

That might be harsh for some of you, but leave the job that doesn’t concern you to proper workers. Anty-cheat, report, etc.
I have seen more people hackusating legit players, demanding to kick them, than actual cheaters in DirtyBomb.
In the heat of the battle there is a lot of things to consider.

The only thing you have to be careful about is not naming and shaming or duplicating talking points (especially ones that aren’t based on facts). Otherwise, I am personally cool with stuff being talked about.

This thread has relevance as it discusses potentially the need to make vote kicking more apparent (not everyone sees it still after it’s been changed) or working on a system that might kick people automatically. I am personally not a fan of any system that would kick people for their score automatically though as I’ve seen suggested before in other threads. I do like the idea of Fairfight though as long as the thresholds for removal were pretty high and using it as another tool along with other AC efforts to keep the super obvious cheaters out of the playerbase.

@prudentMan
Have you ever seen a legit player having 15k points when the second player is only at 3k? :stuck_out_tongue:

And a sniper wall jumping and then shooting someone through the little gap between a wall and one of those big signs (the one you can shoot so they break)?

Not to forget to mention that in the heat of battle nobody can headshot someone and then do like a 180 degree turn and headshot 3 more people :wink:

@Amerika

Is there also coming something that can auto kick afk people that haven’t even spawned or just spawn and do nothing, it’s almost impossible getting a vote kick through even when the entire team is dead and spectating an afk player or someone that’s just shooting a wall.

(GiantGiant) #13

About kicking players. I played comp match today and I had an obvious cheater in team. Everybody from my team wanted to kick him but kicking in comp mode is not allowed or its broken. When you press Tab and use mouse there is an option to votekick but nothing happens when clicked :confused:

You mean similar to this…which isn’t even close to a best effort.

I do that a lot too. Got tons of pub videos show that happening from time to time.

The game removes AFK people pretty quickly. In the past you saw people in the spawn still waiting to get in but I don’t believe they spawn yet until they get in the server.

If somebody is shooting the wall there is no way for the server to know to remove them. Report the person’s Steam ID to support for credit farming and they will look into it. In-game reporting will make an appearance pretty soon.

@amerika
The game I was in wasn’t even halfway, we had just gotten the ev to the chapel and the guy was already on 15k just straight out killing everyone.

You edited your post to add this after I show a video of me doing nearly the exact same thing (as seen in my quote)? Come on now. You say one thing then change it when somebody proves you wrong?

(JesseKomm) #18

I just had a thought about this, say Team A and Team B are in a game and Team B has a blatant or possibly a legit player. Team A can initiate a votekick and if the result is unanimous then a similar votekick is sent to Team B where if even 20% vote yes then the player is kicked. This way both Team A and Team B get to vote on the matter and thus the result is if Team A knows who is hacking but Team B refuses to kick, this offers a larger chance for that player getting kicked through this system.

Of course the current system of Team B kicking their hacker will remain unchanged, although player mentality usually has people keeping their blatant hackers for their own benefit.
