200ish hours and the biggest impression so fair is how much of a joke the game becomes with 6v6 players or more in stop and obj for the offensive team the 2nd the game gets to many ppl the defense team almost always wins the game unless the defense team is really really bad. Also this game has a REALLY bad habit of putting all or most of the low lv players on one team and the higher lv ones on the other and this is not just sometimes it happens 8 out of 10 times no matter the game mode. i know this is a beta but when it comes to team balance this game is a joke in so many ways. And seen how this game is huge on team it makes all the difference in the world and as such most games tend to be one way most of the time. And last but not least how often someone leaves and then one team gets 2 or more extra players is it really that hard to put some kind of auto balance in the game?.
Not even worth playing....
No offense, but I would’ve actually read this post if there were paragraphs instead of a massive chunk of text.
For those who don’t understand what OP was saying:
Anything above 6 vs 6 is a joke on the smaller maps. Defense is too easy, and it’s almost impossible to attack.
On the newer maps that are larger it is more varied with player size.
He is also saying player level and team balance is a joke.
I can safely agree with what he was trying to say.

After trying out Paladin and Gigantic, both are in beta too, i can confirmed that DB’s match balance is such a joke.
DBs games in a nutshell. It’s a really rare occurency that teams are even.
Yea, level =/= skill, but level is a fairly good indicator for it most of the times. I’ve seen only 4 people (including me) over lvl 20 who did not carry their team and stomped the other team if they’re all in the 1-15ish range.
The main rootcause of the imbalance in game is when high level players leave during the match and/or after the lobby shuffler sorted out the players in both teams.
From that point onwards the mess starts. Not to mention players switching teams during the match.
Tbh, I have no clue how to ensure good balance between players in both teams as there is only around 16 players to be balanced. There is just so many variables in the equation.
6vs6 is still bareable, above that is trash though.
I wish they focused more on Ranked and made more incentive to play it so that there would be enough people there to almost always make balanced matches. Hoping for balance in pubs is futile, it’ll never happen.
OP is completely correct. Still waiting for MM to be populated, pubs in this game are trash.
All maps are designed for 5v5, so in actual fact 6v6 is the “best” way to play public matches. The problem is not entirely with the system, it’s with the nature of public matches itself. You will NEVER get proper balance in a pub match, simply because of the drop-in, drop-out nature of the game mode. Often 8v8 can seem “easier” because the attackers are more capable of winning with brute force, as opposed to tactically.
Now I’m not saying the pub sorting system isn’t at fault at all, I do agree that it would be nice to have some kind of auto-balance if teams become unbalanced in terms of player count. The ELO system was recently updated too, meaning it now looks at more than just a player’s last 10 games, when it comes to team sorting, however I’m sure there is still further improvements that can be made.
The reason there is such a big push for competitive right now is because that is how the game is supposed to played! 5v5 in more co-ordinated teams, that’s the core of Dirty Bomb. I’m sure with time it will be improved further in terms of match-making and all this stuff, but these things take time.
@Faraleth I would buy you a drink if I were close by, absolutely my thoughts, cheers
