I am a very casual DB player and out of modesty, I can confidently say that I am at least a gold standard player. I have been mostly solo queueing which usually matches me up with people that are level 7. I understand how options are limited but these Guyz really do fuck up your potential to excel your personal ranking. I could recommend that if you are level 30 or something and you have a level 7 on your team, if you lose there shouldn’t be a deduction in your ranked or say 50 or 25% of what you would have lost if you were teamed up with SKILLED players. I am definitely not the only one that is getting cheated on this system, DB is just lucky their ranked cards look so dam stunning XD. .
Noobs and Ranked
Whoops, posted in wrong section. I’ll post it in the proper area some other time but this information is still worth looking at
My last 10 games have been losses, 2 deranks, and I believe it’s shitty luck. I don’t even want to play anymore.
What I think it comes down to is population. If every match was with others of your exact ranked level, it would push the better players up and the worse players down. When you mix the levels and you just have a random chance to land on the team with an ace or the team with the turd, the ranking system breaks down.
Solo queues are always based off luck though. That’s why people group up so that they can avoid getting crap people on their team. If you find that you are getting hammered by people who have ranks that are way higher than yours, your rank loss in a defeat would only be a portion of what you would get if you lost a game against opposition at your skill level. Whilst if you win against them you would get a big portion of promotion. If you want to vs noobs in ranked who are rank bronze recruit or something you would get a very low rank increase from a victory.
If you want to do well in ranked you don’t give up. In total at the moment, I have won 12 games and lost 11. It is slow but I progressed from a low tier silver recruit to silver agent. I had to put in a lot of hard work for this and I still feel that it is BS. But I guess if you play ranked enough you would get the hang of the situation and do better than everyone else. Ranked mostly requires 30% skill (Which includes game mechanics, medic skills, game mode skills…etc…) and 70% of experience in ranked. Casual play is way different to casual play, it would might as well be seperated into different games of how different the two are which is why you can’t rely on transferring your casual game skills into a ranked game.

Cute, I’m probably 60/60 now after getting screwed over a dozen times. I understand a random match here or there being garbage, but I’m talking about 12 in a row where my team had 1 or 2 people who even seemed to know what the goal of the game was, let alone having strategies.

Competitive strategy in open ranked is almost nonexistent. I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen a match about to start with 4 engies, forcing me to switch to medic alone. The other team would have to be pretty awful to lose.
I think the only way to do well in this kind of ranked is to premake. The advantage is too big, and that’s a problem.
