Yes, I know no one cares if I uninstall, but this is a message for Splash Damage to read.

I’ve got hundreds of hours in this game but I’m telling you right now if the next patch does not have the following things fixed I’m uninstalling. Given DB’s user base is bleeding out like a stucked pig you may want to listen to these suggestions:

1) I don’t ever want to see a “win 1 comp” mission ever again.

My stupid “win 1 comp” mission is now taking me 7 games and I still haven’t won one. Your matchmaking SUCKS balls. So to get my mission credit you TRAP me in your fucking comp match either with a useless team or with hackers… and if I leave I can’t play DB until the comp match ends.

Can I not do the mission? sure, but I don’t expect it to take OVER 7 games to accomplish.

And because I’m a high rank I’m usually paired up with low levels… while the other team are lvl 13 -20. Having ONE high rank on a team does not offset 4 noobs. It’s unfair to them and to me and to the other team who steam roll us because they have 5 medium level players.

2) I don’t ever want to see a “complete secondary” mission ever again.

Are you guys stupid? The goal is the PRIMARY objective. now you’ve got everyone ignoring the primary and going for the secondaries. I literally had a teammate sit and watch them defuse my c4 just so he could go and plant c4. I don’t even blame him though, it’s your IDIOTIC missions causing this kind of behavior.

3) Remove the penalties and lock-in with comp matches

Ya, i get it, you are trying to prevent people from quitting. Well here’s the problem, your matchmaking SUCKS. Until YOU fix YOUR game such that its not just one team steam rolling the other team you need to remove these penalties that keep people stuck in crappy games.

OR if you don’t want to remove those penalties then dont push people into comp servers with daily missions. You’re choice, either one or the other.

So there you have it. I swear if I see any of those 3 things still in the game after next patch I’m uninstalling.

See you in two weeks then ?

Bye byee, here’s a creepy monkey waving at you

One and two are understandable as they are tedious to complete, but you don’t have to do them… a majority of users will simply cancel these missions immediately to avoid the hassle. I suggest you do the same if you are becoming frustrated trying to complete them. As for your third point, no, they do have issues with “matchmaking” which is quite rudimentary at the moment but that is no reason to have zero penalty for leaving a match, if you don’t want to play competitive there is nothing forcing you to, and if you have a Play X Competitive Matches it’s safe to say it’s easier to just endure a bad match for less time than a normal balanced match.

Most of these issues stem from missions which you have difficulty completely… my only recommendation is don’t get caught up in them, the game is meant to be played for fun. Overall, it’s a Beta Build, you can’t expect everything to be perfect, and if you uninstall the game you should consider coming back at a later date, maybe keep in touch with the forums to see how it is progressing, but a break may be very beneficial for you.

I mean, not worded in the best of ways, but I agree to a point, I think.

(Edzer) #6

I agree with point one and two, your point three is just stupid. You’re just making yourself look like a 12 year old ragequitting brat.

Point one: I agree it shouldn’t be a mission, but not because of the matchmaking which “sucks balls”. And I definitly do not feel sorry for you ragequitting your matches and getting a penalty for it. The only reason I agree it should not be a mission is because the game should not force you into playing competitive.

And please… blaming your losses on a “useless team”, just don’t. I doubt you ever seriously carried your games because if you do you’d easily complete that competitive mission.

Point two: I agree with this point and with your reasoning, don’t like your wording though. Telling SD they’re stupid and idiotic doesn’t make you look intelligent either.

Point three: Penalties should always be in the game, and steamrolling will (almost) always stay a thing. Steamrolling is just what happens in shooters a lot, I suggest you start playing League of Legends instead. Or return to it, because it looks like you’ll fit perfectly into the community.

bye won’t miss ya

I’m sure they’re terrified but…

  1. I agree with.
  2. Your logic is flawed, secondary objectives get you primary ones. They just need to change it so defusing counts so people stop letting them explode.
  3. Nope. Penalties should be there. The system should be built as though it works, even though it doesn’t. What’s the point of even pretending to have a ranked system if you let people queue dodge all the time. Fix the greater issues, don’t make another one.

As of now, the current db user base has been quite steady with around 2-3k players at any given moment for more or less a month. If you do not count all survival mmofps things, call of duties and valve’s games, you’ll notice that it is doing pretty well for such a fast paced fps.

Nevertheless, if you’re bored with those missions, like a good part of us, just skip them for your own sanity. These potential 500 to 1000 credits are not worth a nervous breakdown. You’ll do as much credits by doing 2 fairly balanced stopwatch games.

Daily missions can’t be regarded as something mandatory to earn credits. You’ll still earn a good amount of credits by simply playing. I skip a lot of them, I never do competitive missions even though I almost do 1 mm game per day, and I often skip merc missions if I don’t feel the mood to have red-eye/nader/randommerc in my roaster. Play 3 hours straight, you’ll earn at least 3k without mission bonuses, and that’s a fair earning in my opinion.

  4. specifically this is an issue on underground. Blowing the gens takes over a minute, repairing them takes 5 seconds. It’s a pointless thing to bother with. The team that controls the roof wins. Yet no one is bothering with the roof anymore as they all light up the gens and camp them until they explode (which they are then repaired again in 5 seconds).

  5. I agree with the penalties, but then don’t push people into comp matches for GC’s.

I don’t understand why SD creates these missions which are then totally mucking up the game. You’ve got people playing in comp matches that really don’t want to, you’ve got people doing secondaries at the cost of the primary who normally wouldn’t.

It’s like they are creating a mess on purpose and the only way to avoid the mess is for players themselves to basically ignore the missions SD is giving them.

(FilterDecay) #10

maybe he didnt know he could skip the missions?

(joekerr) #11

Agreed. I just got furious after 7 games of comp each with stacked teams. I don’t mind the “play 1 game of comp” but “WIN 1 game” is just ridiculous if you can’t balance the teams.

(joekerr) #12

I did know. I’ve played comp before and didn’t have a problem. But maybe cuz my level is higher now its mucking up the match making… cuz in every game (like 7 in a row) it was me and 3 sub lvl7 guys versus 5 guys who were lvl 13-20.

And the problem is once the game starts, that’s it, theres no leaving.

On top of that it takes about 10 minutes for the system to put me into a comp match.

So just ONE comp match can waste 30 minutes of my time. Now times that by 7 games and STILL not completing the mission … it pushed me over the edge :stuck_out_tongue:

(FilterDecay) #13

I agree comp matches are broken. Just skip those mission is the solution. As for the ranking I read that its based on your last 10 rounds and not your level?

(joekerr) #14

there’s no way that’s the case  If it were I wouldn’t have gone through 7 matches with absurd stacks. Not spawn rape stacks, but not being able to even touch the first objective type stacks.

(Rjsto) #15

Even if I do agree those missions are cruddy, I don’t really agree with throwing a martyr(dom) card like that. I find it really hard to get behind people who threaten devs with leaving the game if they don’t follow your orders

(Edzer) #16

Aye, agree with you. You should see the WoW forums, the biggest shitfest you will have ever seen.

(joekerr) #17

It wasn’t meant to come off like that. I wasn’t trying to say “Do what I say!”… i was trying to say “If these things are still in the game I’m done with the game.”… more a statement of fact than a threat of any kind.

But I get I didn’t word it the best. Gotta understand, it takes 10 minutes for me to join a comp game, then 20 mins per game… 7 games (3.5 hours) of stacked teams and being unable to complete the mission. It’s horse shit.

My fault in it was simply not deleting the mission.

(Jurmabones) #18

You were the only person who rage quit from that match last night and you did it within 3 minutes of the match starting. Not to mention you were on offense. And no one on your team was playing fragger or skyhammer. Maybe you should try to help your teammates or suggest what to get in their loadouts before the match begins. None of you locked in either, we had to wait for the timer to tick down for the match to start.

I don’t disagree with your points, but in your case I know firsthand you are just a rage quitter with zero patience. Again, I think they should get rid of comp missions because some people just don’t want to play them, and the matchmaking is bad, but you left that match way too quickly last night.

You also rage quit out of a pub about an hour ago on Chapel even though it was a really close match. Maybe first-person shooters just aren’t your thing.

(Amerika) #19

Exedore just said on stream a few seconds ago that they are going to be seriously talking about the competition missions and secondary missions as he feels they need to change. Him and Shoe have also joked about the secondary obj missions a couple of times where they were sarcastically mentioning how “everyone” loves them and how it’s the most loved.

So I’d wager those get changed fairly soon. Perhaps not within your timeline of uninstalling but it sounds like it’s going to happen.

I would suggest changing the forum title though. You can post constructively without giving out immature ultimatums. What you have to say isn’t unreasonable and many, including myself, agrees with some of it. But how you are saying it isn’t exactly mature and won’t win a lot of people over.

(Amerika) #20

I didn’t request a thread title change as a moderator. I suggested a title change as a member of the community because it devalues what you are saying and is going to instantly make some people who might agree with you be a lot more hesitant to do so.
