Did you by chance copy your steam apps folder back over once you reinstalled steam ?
Like i did, i have same issue, win 7
-------------------EDIT
I was writing this earlier and suddenly realised something.
Im getting this issue, but after reinstalling windows 7 due to a FP from Comodo :/… i dont download jack so when you read rootkit theres only one option.
Anyways only way i can connect atm is steam browser, couple of random Faves from ingame browser, internet search ingame is hopeless.
Hopefully its something silly my end, but thought id mention it
Aint played in 2weeks.
I did copy steamapps folder in the process but all game files check out, all other games run file.
OHH just thought about permissions
Its now working ingame…hopefully thats my fix and not a random time of day thing, ive been trying for 2 weeks but always after 9pm say, ill know tonight but now i have a populated server list again
So what i actually did was retake permissions from OWNER tab.
eg: right click Steamapps folder > Properties > Security tab > Advanced > OWNER Tab >Select YOURNAME WITHOUT THE ADMINISTRATORS (theres two names relating to you) > Change Permissions Button (new Window will open) >Select YOURNAME (again without the administrators) >Check (tick) INCLUDE INHERITABLE PERMISSIONS FROM THIS OBJECTS PARENT >APPLY
I didn’t copy any files over from my old computer. Planning on doing that later today.

I followed these steps but that box was already checked.

Uh… I just started Brink up and I can now see 126 servers when I search the internet in-game. I swear I have not changed any settings recently. No idea why it works now.

Riddle me this, Brinkman: what are the chances that this had to do with the recent Win7 SP1 Update?

This may have something to do with it because, by some odd coincidence, I built a new computer using Win 7 at the same time the SP1 update was released.

Aaand now i just reinstalled W7 x64 Pro + SP1 and can’t get servers from browser. History works.
Done everything discussed till now.
Before i was using W7 x64 Ultimate and everthing was working. Will try to update windows…
[QUOTE=Jimmy James;358736]Update:
I discovered the “Change Filters” button at the bottom left corner of the Steam client and when I set it to search only for Brink I got 321 servers! A lot of them time out but I can join some. May have something to do with certain servers not being updated with the newest patch?
Still can’t see any servers in-game but this at least gives me a workaround and once I join them they are on my in-game History list.

If you can see the BRINK servers in the STEAM browser with the BRINK filter , then the problem is likely your router.
