Whats the best method of stopping players walking too far out in your terrain…

Hi!
This is a common problem. There are atleast two ways:
a) Make some sort of physical structure, that stops the player. A wall, a fence, barbed wire. A hill. My current map is partly outdoor. And the outdoor area is surrounded by big hills. Too high to climp.
b) Invisible wall. You can make an invisible wall: First, make a brush (the wall) where you want it. Then apply the texture “clip” to it. To find clip: Click Texture on the meny, drag down to Common, and release. One of the textures in Common is called clip. It is red.
Good luck

PS. This problem can be used to exemplify the value of visual symbols or signs. If you make a hill, to stop people from leaving the map, people will still try to climp and jump it. But put some barbed wire on the hill, say 3 meters up from where the player is standing. Some players will still try to climb/jump up, but atleast the message from the mapmaker to the players would be clearer. The barbed wire would tell many player: “This area is off limits”.

Visual clues (symbols, signs, whatever) help the player understand where you (the mapmaker) have put the limits.
