Since the update last night there are no longer any objective servers for U.S. East or West. Someone else pointed this out in a forum topic in the “off topic” section here:
If I try to join objective mode via matchmaking, it puts me in the European server matchmaking. I don’t care for stopwatch as it takes too long for my tastes, but why did all the objective servers get taken offline? Any ETA on when they will be back up?
No dev comment??
sad!! guess that explains why so many servers are Empty after a new merc was released…
Zero dev support or interaction on their forums…
2nd that, seem like they don’t care! what’s the point for forum if you’re not replying or at least acknowledge the issue. Hate to play servers that over 100 ping
While matching making does put us on U.S. servers now, we still don’t have 7 v 7 or 8 v 8 Objrective mode in the US. Matchmaking take too long during off peak hours, and it’s just not as much fun as 8 v 8. 6 v 6 objective is OK as in…meh.
Shoe addressed it today the weekly video on the YouTube channel. At the 2:38 mark:
“Objective mode will continue to only be playable in NA and EU regions via causal matchmaking”.
Unfortunately, they clearly have no plans to change back to the old system (although it was much better). They’re trying to stick with this “casual” matchmaking idea. However, it simply won’t work. There’s too many issues and too many reasons why. There are much better systems out there, but I have doubt that we’ll ever see anything else.
