No Merc Swap Videos

(SnakekillerX) #1

Hey guys, I’ve been doing some DB recordings lately as I finally have the hard drive capacity to make them.
Lately I’ve been doing No Merc Swap Videos, where I try and play a given merc the entire game, no matter how temping it might be to switch to someone more suited for the current situation.

For the most part I’ll be doing these for mercs I tend to neglect (with the exception of Proxy), in the hopes of getting better with them.

I also have other videos where I do merc swap, but those will fall under Objective or Stopwatch regular categories.

If people have a suggestion for a merc they would like to see me play next, let me know.

EDIT: I decided to move this out of the New Players section as it didn’t really belong there anyway.

Is this some kind of personal challenge? What’s the point in intentionally not using a class that you yourself feel would give the team a better chance at success?

I believe the point would be to get better at the mercs by focusing on them individually for longer amounts of time. Through getting better, he is already benefitting his team.

@SnakekillerX Can we get some footage of SMG9 Nader please?

It is a number of things I guess. A personal challenge is part of that, as it takes me out of my comfort zone of almost always playing Proxy.

It teaches me how to play different mercs better, or how to utilize their particular skills in different situations, rather than just switching merc.

It also allows me to rely on my team a bit more as I often tend to go my own way, and do my own thing. I still play the objective, but I know I don’t coordinate well enough with my team at times.

That was the main purpose of doing these originally, I’m continuing these because its also a whole lot of fun. It really changes up the game play style for me and I find myself really liking every merc I end up playing.

Exactly!

I’ll craft a bronze SMG9 card in a moment and try and get a couple of videos recorded today. (might not be uploaded until tomorrow)

Thanks! I’m new to the YouTube game, but I’ll try and keep things interesting to watch.
