What happened to DB? There’s no event like Ghostclip or Nuclear Winter in the whole 2018. That’s almost eight months now.
For me, that’s one of the best reasons why this game is dying, but it seems like barely anyone else talks about lack of loadout events. Why?
Because load out events are just flashy short term bandaids and don’t solve the underlying problems of DB and thus would be just a waste of time and energy ATM.
Probably because the art team that usually works on loadout cards has been busy with weapon skins and whatnot. Don’t forget there have actually been a lot of them recently.
It’s also realistic to expect SD might be working on something else that requires their resources, which would explain why we haven’t gotten as many major content updates lately. SD has never been one to announce what they’re working on until it’s almost ready for release, so I wouldn’t doubt it.
I do wish we had more large events though. I miss ReV style things where we felt like we could actually participate.
Regardless what you think it’s still bad to see none of them in this year considering we had three loadout events in four months last year (September to December 2017).
That’s what I thought, but I wonder why’s no one else talking about this. Isn’t boring seeing exact same cards for a whole year?
My guess is most of the people here are long-time DB veterans and share the same opinions as @n-x lol. A lot of people here would rather see SD focus on fixing issues that have been in the game since day 1 rather than more skins to grind for. I can understand it too, but a balance between fixing the game and giving us something fun to work towards would be ideal
The more we ask for fixing balance, the worse it gets, cause they don’t know how to fix it. And I’m playing since end of the 2016, so I don’t know if I’m veteran, but definitely I’m not a newbie. I’m not saying we should get events like this every month, but looks like we will finish a year with no loadout events at all, which is not something DB is known for.
They are actually hard working on the 1.0 release. And honestly, I’d rather want the release to come sooner instead of another random loadout event.
And who knows maybe there will be a loadout event along the release.
Hey, with my bad luck when it comes to RNG, I’m glad I don’t have another event to make me want to pull my hair out every time I get another f*cking Rhino card, if I get a card at all.
But I do wish we could get another big event, like Starry said. Rouge en Vogue was probably the best event we’ve ever had, even if Proxy did end up winning (or losing when you think about it, she did get shot in the face and shoulder), and I would love to see some more events like that. The Winter 2017 event was pretty good though.
I’d rather have that they removed the gambling elements (ie. various forms of cases) and separated loadouts from skins.
SD is currently working on Dirty Bomb, Gears tactics, Gears 5, wargaming partnership title and unannounced project. That’s 5 projects at once. I think they’re just super busy.
They kind of overhauled the whole “case system” so instead of 1K equipment cases with 2% (that were originally 0.3% during Containment War and What The Dickens) chance what would they do? 5K Equipment Cases with 10% instead for special editions?
I’d rather have loadout skins than these moronic weapon skins. As @Runeforce mentioned, being able to apply any skin to any loadout would be amazing as well. I’ve hoped for that forever. I actually had a strong hunch we’d see some form of that with loadout decks, but so much for that, huh? At least Merc Decks served one purpose! I can now toss my 16 duplicate and useless SE cards into them and never have to look at them in my loadout selection screens again! See, now that’s improvising.
Oh noes. No repainted models in 2018 until now???!!! OMG!!!
Probably them artists are doing something, their company is able to live on, while the new?! interim still is busy trying to figure out, where the new?! manager wants to head with DB.
(Sorry if I’ve hurt some feelings, but that’s what DB represented to me since the start of the open-beta… many new colo(u)rs to some old skins, some rnd-rng-wnb-money-buckshots, a bit balance going back! and! forth!, but no real thought-on development happening here at. all.
