No female mods: I'm buying Used, if at all

(Myythren) #1

So in depth dude customization, or both male and female mods. Well, enjoy brink. As one of the 40% of gamers who are not dudes this is a ****ty choice. We don’t like being completely erased. And your technical answer? I’m not buying it. It’s 2011, get on track. Your old tired excuses do not hold water. You want my money, you’re gonna give me a minimum.

Reading all the fail the net over, lag, bugs etc, I’m not motivated to buy I game I was really excited about and planned to pick up soon after release. Now I’m a hell of a lot less likely to give it a shot. Yet another game I’ve saved myself from with 5 min of google.

So tech fail, but for me this gender fail is the nail in the coffin. I’m not buying from you period. I may buy used. Doesn’t look like I’ll have in issue getting a copy that way.

For the other ladies who game: what do you think? Will you be buying?

For everyone: Would you use a female character if that was an option? And would you rather have more clothing or another gendered character to use?

Seriously? I think most females will tell you to get over yourself

Sure I would use a female character if it were an option, and I would have bought the game if you could make only female characters. I don’t really have a preference on whether I’d prefer more clothing or another gender, I don’t think it’s relevant at all in a first-person shooter. The character customization is a neat perk but the fun is in the team-oriented gameplay. If I was looking to create and roleplay a character I’d look into some rpg’s or mmo’s.

Lets be honest, you never even see your character when you are playing, except for the Sense of perspective ability, or if you spot an operative disguised as you.

I suppose a boycott is one way to help have female characters in future games, but is it really something worth taking a stand over?

I’m a stubborn person by nature. A lesson my parents taught me early on is that being stubborn can be a good thing when you want to make a stand, but it will get in the way of life (in this case, having fun) if you don’t pick your battles.

Refusing to buy a game because your unseen avatar isnt the right gender doesnt seem like a good battle to me

As far as the other issues with the game, this video gives a pretty fair criticism of the game, if you want a more balanced idea of what to expect instead of fans and haters debating back and forth.

Yup, because a game doesn’t have females it is automatically sexist. Perfect logic.

WHY do you NEED female customization?

PS, I’m on the phone with my GF, read her this post, and she thinks your, “a total sexist… That’s so stupid… like, that’s a stupid reason to not buy a game, it being bad, ya, but not because you can’t play Barbie with a girl in a game.”

Her words, not mine. Honest to God.

krhm… Brink is still FPS, not RPG.

(Protector) #9

Most gaming women are more like men so you will fit right in.

Perhaps I should be concerned but my wife has a lot of fun playing around with her fat black cowboy.

Think if it would be fat black cowgirl. :expressionless: I can imagine it
