No ability to kick/ban from server.

I’ve looked through all the rcon commands, and I have no ability to kick or ban? Hurrdurr?
Why not?

Hows about an option for the team to vote kick other players? Like what left 4 dead and left 4 dead 2 has?

That way players do not need an admin around all the time.

Hi,

You need to use the admin commands to perform kick/ban.

admin kick client_index
admin ban client_index

I forgot to mention, callvotes are not allowed under the standard match settings.
However, under the various other match settings, callvotes are enabled. The option for calling a vote to kick a player can be found in the scoreboard.

Are there any plans to add an ability for non-admin players to call for a vote kick?

Being able to kick griefers, team killers, without an admin would be nice.

Awesome! Thank you Kap. I take it, it’s the same client index from command viewPlayerProfileIndex? Also, how do we get the client_index if we’re not on the server and our only access is through rcon? edit: ALSO, it seems si_motd1 xxx isn’t showing the motd like ET did. Is this shown in the limbo menu, or should it be showing across the screen when players join? It’s doing neither.

Also, if you’re still reading this. It seems renderNetDemo xxx (after using recordNetDemo xxx) crashes the client. Known bug?

Right so when I type viewPlayerProfileIndex “name” it just brings up their steam community page.

To see a list of client indices that correspond to the player names:

  1. type ‘admin kick’
  2. leave a space after the ‘kick’ parameter
  3. hit the TAB key, and the console should show you a list of all players and their corresponding client indices.

Thanks again, Kap.

Is there a command something like listClients?

The only thing I’ve found to do is type viewPlayerProfileIndex then 1-16 and when their Steam profile pops up, you know who to kick or ban.
