Next wave of info and game footage

(Kinjal) #1

I think SD and Bethesda are already shown us how they want to PR Brink (as they see it). Source of all videos, and most of game information? Game Shows! I know I’m not just open your eyes on such fact, many of you already knew it. We all want new info to be released, so let’s think together, where Brink will show up this year.

TGS 2011 - 15 - 18 September 2011 – I have no idea about Japan market, but it must be huge.
GDC 2011 – 28 February- 4 March 2011 – BF3 premiere
E3 2011 – 7 - 9 June 2011 – the King of all game shows
GDC Europe – 15 - 17 August 2011
Gamescom 2011 – 17 - 21 August 2011

I missed sumthing?

They’ve done lots of web/magazine previews. Had recently people go to their offices to play. Did a whole public parkour tour. Until they’re ready to release what’s the point in flooding video, advertising and doing other stuff?

To be honest, I’m not frustrated by the lack of info. Everything mainstream is banging on about the same stuff as it probably needs to in order to sink in. What I miss and begrudge is the removal of Rahdo and other interaction from this and other forums. Those small Q&As gave us minute details that never get discussed in mainstream coverage, they were ideal interest keepers (for me at least) and ones that didn’t bite into their larger marketing such as exclusive pictures, videos.

I’m not sure if this is due to a Bethesda request or SD is just too busy right now. I’ll lean on the former.

As for shows, well the obvious answer is the same as last year. Although you do raise a very valid and thunder stealing point mentioning the BF3 reveal in March. If I was Bethesda I’d worry about that a lot. May not be similar games but if you’re trying to win over people to a new franchise the last thing you need is an established old one getting everyone’s attention. In short. RELEASE FEBRUARY!!!

Next week can be a good option to ! :stuck_out_tongue:

If they stopped eating pastries, yeah I expect next week would be possible too.

“Fallout: New Vegas - release date announcement 14.06.2010, release date 19.10.2010
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - release date announcement 12.11.10, release date 11.11.2011”

Im sorry guys, but imho – in May maybe, but it can be fall 2011 as well.
And u must keep the…

“Postal 3 - 1-st. quarter 2011.
Battlefield Play4Free – II-nd quarter 2011.
Duke Nukem Forever – 11.04.2011.
Portal 2 - 20.04.2011
Deus Ex: Human Revolution – March 2011.
F.E.A.R. 3 - 22.03.2011
Crysis 2 - 22.03.2011
Killzone 3 - 22.02.2011
Bulletstorm - 22.02.2011”

…In mind too, of course I can be wrong but February and March just don’t sound realistic.
I just wonder, SD going to Japan show or not

I start getting worried :frowning:
I hope they won’t change the releasedate again.

This is where I’ve noticed a gross lack of attention for the hardcore fan. Not so much the deafening silence of SD & Bethesda after the storm of info and media from the show season. It’s the little things. Reaching out to the more devoted fan.
I’ve only been a member of this and Bethesda’s forum for a short time. Therefore I tread lightly in making observations regarding said forums. But I can draw on my experience in other forums and in dealing with the companies that own the brands. I am a long time member of He-Man.org. And although dealing with a giant corporation like Mattel can make one antsy to pull out every last hair from your head, they have also been VERY gracious to the “hardcore” collector. Company reps regularly check in to provide updates and new information, as well as take a variety of questions from us. These same representatives have even twisted executive arms in order to make fan requests become a reality.
Now I realize this is a completely different type of product, but it’s quite a contrast when visiting here, where great (some good topics still come along) topics for discussion have all but disappeared and noone seems to know what’s going on. Bethesda’s forum, well. . . . it’s even worse. I do understand that this property must adhere to certain rules for information release (property rights, NDA’s). However, this is an independently owned game developer and a somewhat large company in Bethesda. I would think being closer to the ground where us regular folk dwell would create a sense of need for staying in touch and bending a bit for those who want to help the game be a success. Whether or not it is the intention of the aforementioned companies that we be handled in this way, it is discouraging. Things will continue on the way they are until everyone is good and ready to push the marketing to the masses. As with everything, money is the name of the game. . . and I understand that. But, I digress.

It’s not like there’s not lots of others games coming if the date gets pushed back. Plenty to keep us amused till then.

(Nail) #9

WOW
talk about “The Age of Entitlement”

they owe us nothing, they give us a central place to discuss the game with response from the developers where needed. Wait till after release and you may be surprised with their presence

(Zanchile) #10

Skyrim was 12.11.10 not 12.12.10

(Kinjal) #11

Man what’s change everything! Now I’m 100% soured Brink will come out in February.:stroggbanana: Fixed.

Indeed, they do not. Nor did I state that anywhere in my post (if, that is, you were referring to my post). I simply made some observations and comparisons. There is a significant difference between the feeling of entitlement, and the desire to feel a higher level of appreciation.

(Nail) #13

not really

(Kinjal) #14

F.E.A.R. 3 release date moved to May 2011

(Lizzrd) #15

Yeah there is.
One is being an arrogant prick, the other a simple desire.

(Nail) #16

expressing wants as needs is indeed arrogant

(Vaporman) #17

LOL. Creating strawmen now are we?

If the contact of a game developer through a fan forum was a “need” I or anyone else expressed, I would begin seeking, or recommend others seek, psychological help immediately.

I merely think it would be a nice gesture to hardcore fans. That is all.

(Nail) #18

“hardcore fan” lol. you’ve been here three months

I’m a fan of SD games, been here over 6 years, run a little enemy territory fan site, but I’m hardcore nothing.

Comparing an “action figure” site with a game developer’s site is just silly, trying to “guilt” SD into more info because some other forum “listens” to “hardcore fans” is arrogant, imho

I’m arrogant. Yes.

(Nail) #20

hell, not only am I arrogant, I’m bitter too, but I don’t express any entitlement for being a forum user.
