There seems to be missing add friends and a friends list.
I wanna
- add friend
- see when and what they play
- Click invite in client
- Click Friends in game to invite (This is quicker than alt-tab to windows)
- Click Join in client

I fully agree there, the game MUST have a system of friends list that allow you to see if they’re online and join/invite them. QW did it very well, Steam’s friends list is nice too, I don’t ask for more than the basic features to manage some in game sociability without using a third program (irc, xfire, or whatever…).
The alpha launcher already had a friendslist, I guess we will see a friendlist in the beta launcher too
Let’s switch back to DB/XT launcher, I’m personally not very fond on the Nexon launcher.
I uninstalled my alpha game. But here are some screenshots:

I hope the 3 screenshots can show you how the launcher was like.

Thank you. 10 chars
I still have to close everytime nexon launcher after login due to unreal connection issues/overload caused by it. (I think it only affects players per wireless?) Im not a fan of it so closing it is not the problem^^ but its kinda annoying, even when I didnt rly play the game the last couple of months

Oh thanks Shifty, that’s a nice launcher indeed.
You’re welcome
I really liked the old launcher. I still cross my fingers that we will see something similar in the future
That’s really good news! I couldn’t imagine a FPS in 2014 not having this basic feature.
On the subject of friendlist, please don’t impose a friendlimit. BFBC2 had a 20 friendlimit and it was hell. Origin has a 100 friend limit and if you’re trying to build a community that just isn’t enough.
I can remember having to delete ppl from my friend list, sometimes clanmates, just to be able to add a team captain for a match on BFBC2, prolly the worst in game friend list. A hundred slots friends list gives you more time before you fill it up but as you say it’s still hard not to juggle with the invites at some points. A good way to proceed is having a friends list and a clan/team/platoon list next to it, then it’s easier to manage your contacts, BF3 and BF4 do it, ETQW does it too and it’s functionnal imo.
BF3 & 4 are not functional imo. I don’t know about ET:QW.
Platoons also have the 100 player limit for some reason, which just isn’t workable. Making multiple groups for the same community seems odd to me.
ETQW provides you with a 100 slots friends list and a 100 slots clan list. It gets quickly limited if you’re involved in the community and need to be able to reach out to tons of ppl, but you can make room in your friends list by not having your clanmates in both lists, this way you’re able to add up to 200 peoples.
Improvement can be made here but I like the idea of having the possibility to create a separate list only available for your team/clan mates as the clan list in ETQW or the Platoons in BF3 and BF4.
Just get rid of the limits, I’ve never understood the reason for them anyway. There was a time when there were no limits before they were imposed so let’s bring that back.
unless you improve the launcher, it doesnt matter. as has been stated, if i dont close the launcher before going in game, i lag everywhere. that thing takes up to 10% of my cpu just by running in the backround
