I admit, I do like Bungie’s weekly dev update, it’s official and feels we’re being kept in the loop rather than being forgotten about “oh ****, we forgot to release stuff… quick, give them some screenshots we released to magazines a month ago!”

Rahdo spoiled us before they locked him away and shaved off is chin hair as punishment.

I mentioned this in another thread. Seems Bethesda likes the media/exclusive form of marketing. This sucks for us because not only are we largely inconsequential in their media marketing budgets but it also prevents SD from reaching out directly to their customers and forming a direct relationship with them.

That is sometime, IMO, that SD should work on for their next contract as I think it’s an important step for them to build up the SD brand and they’re squandering it by letting a publisher control and take a lot of the credit for their work.

Oh and to answer your question. Locki is doing a presentation of Brink at Quakecon this coming weekend (Sat 14th, 11am Central Time). If/where there is a feed of it I don’t know though.

More info on the panels/keynotes here. http://news.quakecon.org/post/881677083

And I’ll take the opportunity to say now, OI CARMACK! Less Marketing! and MOAR technical sexiness and general trash talking!

Giving the news to the media gives a chance for the game to be seen by a wider audience.
