Hello fellow Brink players, since we do not have much in the way of news I thought I’d share this Twitter link from @Brinkthegame. I asked them why SD has been so quiet lately and they said they are working on an update. http://twitter.com/#!/brinkgame .
Check out their reply to Terminator514 (ME), and as I’ve said it’s not much but since they have beat around the bush about if an update is coming or if it was just DLC. 
Actually, they said DLC was coming; since however he said “update” in this tweet it may hint to an update along with the DLC.

Also, its been pretty much known/assumed that there was gonna be a big update along with the DLC

So this one is free ! what next ? some map pack with 2 maps at 20 €
We already pay 50 € for 8 maps and a game in beta version … 
so what next ? I’m curious

It would seem that you think that a free dlc is something outrageous. What do you mean, “what next”?

Most games offer 3 dlc packs and then end there…I guess they find that profit falls after the 3rd pack. Sometimes, the first dlc pack is free as a thank you. The 2nd and 3rd dlc packs are hardly ever free if there is a console version for the game, because Sony and Microsoft charge the developers I assume. (I heard the first update is free, though I’m not sure if that means the first patch, or the first official dlc.0
Patches usually come out until the last dlc is released, and stop coming shortly after.
I looked back at the Quake Wars patch history, and it looks to me like it got 4 patches, with the latest being 8 months after release…which is better than most developers, but probably not ideal (depends on the game though…maybe Quake Wars didn’t need anything…I don’t know.)
Anyway, I would expect about 6 months of support…but with the netvars, its possible that we could get balancing updates a year or more after release. I believe Exedore said that they were working on weapon balancing at the moment.
As for what the 2nd and 3rd dlc will be… You can’t really add abilities in paid dlc, so it will most likely be maps and some customization stuff.
