When are these maps coming
News on dockyard and gallery?
At the end of this month we will have another fine-tuning.
2 weeks after that must be a merc update as they said (I’m not sure about this).
2 weeks after that must be a fine-tuning again since they are going to break something from the latest update as usual.
So as my calculation, new maps will be added in at least 2 months.
The are still in progress. No official announcements atm. Keep an eye for the dev streams, if you watch them live you can try and ask about them in twitch chat.
Hopefully Dockyard comes soon, while Gallery is forgotten…so execution can die the slow painful death it deserves.
I can’t really wrap my head around testing a map for two days is enough conclusive data to make tweaks.
i actualy like execution,. though dock yard sucks as i hate looking at block out maps

it wouldnt be but they had a pretty large sample size of a few hundred players (maybe a couple thousand im not sure) and the response to both maps was widely positive. Its also a beta, so there is plenty of time before release to make further tweaks

Thats why they did multiple iterations in the past and said the same also for these maps. We will have more tests.
However, I am not sure if data collecting is the only reasonable way to get a map done… I mean how did maps get designed before public tests?

They made maps for DB originally that are SIGNIFICANTLY different from the maps we see today. Entire sections of maps have been removed or changed based on player testing.
So to answer your question, they made and finished a map, then had to make a TON of changes once players got their hands on it for use. The current method is based on what they learned in that process. Do a blockout. Test it. Tweak it. Test it. and repeat until almost finished. Then fill in the blockout with textures, etc.
Rather than retexturing and detailing after every tweak and wasting tons of man hours they are doing it this way.

This ^^ Can confirm we are making tweaks to these maps and texturing areas we are happy with, but no ETA on release dates for them currently.
