Been saving up for weeks to buy the next merc, I also have extras for a silver trade up and more for a bronze loadout if the silver sucks. Preparedness!
New Role-call today! RED-EYE CONFIRMED
I’m interested in using him, given I that he appears to be the best spotter in the game, basically pointing out people to his allies while using the goggles if I am interpreting that correctly. The marksman rifle also handles a lot better than a sniper rifle in closer quarters.
I don’t believe his goggles spot enemies, in that they won’t have the same symbol as with Vasilli’s sensor. I believe they’re a personal use skill only.

If that was the case, that would pretty much destroy Redeye’s teamplay capability, because if he smokes a chokepoint full of enemies, then the teammates who aren’t Redeye can’t see through the smoke and thus will be unable to accurately hit enemies in or behind the smoke. We don’t want another ability being used so selfishly like Phantom’s cloak prenerf.

Oh sorry i meant Bill
DAMN IT i mean Redeye… [/quote]
Bill Boss?

Bill Eye the Smoking Boss
EDIT: Found a better one.
No hate for me, but I’m 100% sure Red-Eye will be called OP as soon as he comes out. Brace for whining.
Also no Phoenix for me again… Guess I need to wait even more ;~; #Feels

Oh without a doubt people will complain. 2-3 weeks after release people will realize how to fight him and then the Op threads will quiet down. I just hope SD doesn’t react sooner than that like they did with Phantom, and nerf him before people learn to counter him.

SD is usually quite patient about balancing. They have a very strong wait and see attitude. Phantom has been the only exception to the rule so far, but people act like they do it every time a merc is released. They don’t.
So happy I didn’t spend those credits on another Merc. I hope Red Eye actually adds some new elements of play and tactics to the game, instead of being just another noob class.

True, I just hope they don’t prematurely destroy the merc that’ll very likely be my new main.
P.S. Love your avatar, Code Geass is the best!
Well. You can be sure that there will be lots of ppl who will play him the wrong way - No obj. just clean TDM.

Agreed ! It’s not the topic of this thread tho
Does anybody know if SD will now release mercs like they used to (2 weeks) or will they do the same thing as with Phantom (1 month of waiting)
@Wolffe7 This was asked in stream, the answer was that there was never an official timetable anyway so it’s anybody’s guess.

That’s because it’s a slippery slope. They’ve done it once now, means they could just as easily do it again and it proves they’re willing to do it in the first place. Not our fault they hurt the trust many of us held in them in regards to balance o_o. Just how it is. They’ll have to prove via action they won’t knee jerk everything again.
