i think noone should help him in this particular problem…

(Pande) #3

Don’t be arrogant Indy.

Press L to open entity list and click the arrow next to Worldspawn to show all entities. Any func_ entity or trigger_ entity (or any other that should contain a brush) should be deleted. These are entities where you have deleted the brushes in the entity but the entity still remains. Also, this error can be brought on from having an origin brush that is not part of an entity. (a brush with the common/origin shader on it)

okay pande. i think that the solution is easier - BRUSH CLEANUP.

(Blowfish) #5

Why not ? I have the same problem now. In most cases its what pande says. I had same thing yesterday. And when I use brush cleanup I get an error :

DPlane::DPlane: Bad Normal.
41 invalid/duplicate planes removed

I can do that many times, still getting this error and a non functioning bsp.

(Pande) #6

brush cleanup wont fix that. brush cleanup targets brushes that have more faces in bsp than vertices to account for them. ( usually obtained by draggin a brush from a side that is perpindicular to an angled side, and eventually you end up dragging it to a point and a whole face disapears)

in fact, thats usually harmless, but can sometimes result in faces disapearing on said brush, tcMods doing odd things, and other such visual nuisances. brush cleanup doesn’t work on entity related problems though in my experience so it won’t fix that. also, some people who downloaded one of those floating version of radiant won’t even have bobtoolz. gasp

btw, that Bad Normal error isnt bad… its good! it means its removed stuff. xD still, what IS bad is that you have 41 of them. :s

lol

(sorry, I could not resist :o)

(aaa3) #8

i think his first post means, this was asked and answered many times he should search and then there wont be so many posts about the same stuff again and again

(IndyJones) #9

bingo. you got that right aaa3.

(Pegazus) #10

well we all know what indyjones ment with his first post. But the way indyjones saied it was awfully expressed.

"i think noone should help him in this particular problem… "
If i would be a new comer around here, i would get the idea that this person is unhelpful or does not give a thing about my problem. I would have atleast mentioned the search tool, to make him familiar with it.
