New Player's Guide

(-PogS-) #1

Hi guys,

With help of the community and a bit of Nexon (I included content of their guide), I made a New Player’s Guide to help newcomers discover the game in a good way. The purpose is to prevent newbies running around aimlessly and give them tips to know the game better.
Well I am quite sure this guide can be improved and I need your help. That may be tips, ideas to improve the layout and the the organization of the guide, pictures that may fit the content, videos…
Please post anything you think can be added in it.

Thank you beforehand

In relation, adeto made a more… competitively/setting oriented guide for the ET and RtCW players on crossfire.

That is really interesting but clearly not for newbies

I think you may be underestimating PC gamers

I mean that this does not belong to a new player’s guide but to an advanced player’s guide.
I added the guide to the wiki just after the new player’s guide

I disagree  First thing I do whenever I start up a new game is take a look at the options/settings and all the annoying stuff I can, hopefully, turn off before I even first attempt to load into the server.

I do adapt the game to my hardware in game first, then test the game. If it is not satisfying (as it is in DB) I go tweaking and modifying config files.
The problem is that by default you can’t turn off enough things in DB, devs should add ultra low settings.

My guide is aimed at players who want to play games competitively and dont give a **** about graphics etc and having useful binds and such(and understand the basics of the game). PogS guide is for the absolute newbies who need the absolute basics like how mercs work and what the gamemodes are. Aimed at different groups of players, there is room for all :stuck_out_tongue:
