Hello

Can you give us news about a new patch for the ATI graphics card ?
We have to wait new driver ATI 11.6 ?

What’s going on ? What’s the status of this problem ? I’ve got always horrible framerate …
I always can’t play this game and it becomes a stupid situation …

Please fix that !

Looking for answers on the Bethesda forums is like asking your dog about the meaning of life

No news from Splash Damage ?
I try again today… In some situations, it becomes unplayable …

35 euros for that … :frowning:

ATI is often reluctant to prioritize OpenGL functionality, they’re a DX orientated company

Just ignore Nail, quite a few others have grown tired of his constant Nvidia fanboism. The game is still struggling for both graphics companies.

Also, Splash Damage doesnt reply to often to post but does say “we read all of yalls posts”. Im not sure if drivers are going to be able to increase performance for this game. Your just going to have to be patient

There’s no fanboism. It’s a fact that ATI has always had their strength in the DX sector and struggled with their OpenGL implementation. Just go back to id Tech 3 and early id Tech 4 (Doom³) and you’ll see.

Apart from the (now fixed) driver problem with a few models there’s no issue with BRINK and GeForce cards. I even get 13-15 FPS with a 8600m (yes that’s a notebook GPU).

i get better fps in brink with my 8800gtx than with my new ati 6970! that shows ATI are useless.

ive asked if i can swap the card for an nvidia 480 /560

I don’t have any performance issues with id tech 3 and 4 games on my ati card. Brink is the first time I’ve had poor performance with one.

Because ATI fixed it with new driver releases, there were for example huge issues in the first weeks after the Doom³ release until ATI fixed their drivers.
So it’s not really the first time with BRINK.

new ATI drivers are available

(ilyama999) #12

Today ? A link ?

Thanks

(slengteng) #13

I’m not seeing them anywhere. Do you have a link?

That’s the one that came out last week, not sure why they are just updating that thread today.

Cat application profile was released on the 29th

even with ultralow-detail-cfg my fps drop to 25-30 fps. the updates and ati hotfixes did not help ****. this needs to be fixed asap!

system:
amd phenom II x4 955
4gb ddr3 ram
amd radeon hd 6800 series
win7 pro x64

(slengteng) #18

That had no bearing on Brink. The Crossfire scaling was added in the last catalyst driver.

OpenGL, Enemy Territory Quake Wars runs like greased lightning (60+ FPS constant) on my 5870, even with a dozen violators going off at 1920x1200 4 x aa 4 a AF all settings on MAX. Online full server. (9550 @ 3.4Ghz 4GB DDR 2 800 and a HD 5870 vapour x)

OpenGL Brink, HBAO off, all other settings on FPS goes as low as 25 and peaks and troughs all over the place. It is not unplayable but does detract from the gameplay a substantial amount!

I wish they would just patch parkour into ET:QW and the ability purchase system… then we would have easily identifiable targets with no silly red/blue tint, no silly customisation, we would have vehicles, great gameplay and awesome maps!

Back in the real world, patience, it is a fun game, almost as good as Quake Wars, and with a bit more optimisation and support from the driver’s creators could be even better!
