Suggestion:
Just make two separate files.
One with linux and one with windows distribution.

Can’t one file need to be inside the pk3 and that’s the client game dll/so (ui and server dll don’t work inside the pk3, need to be outside). If I do two pk3’s one for each system I break the pure rules , so a linux server can only have linux clients and windows server only windows clients.

-How the fuck do I pass a ball ? :stuck_out_tongue: (we did /kill but that’s not really passing i think :))
-in the download, there is no linuxversion yet (I did understand from the above post there should be one now?) - really need this because most servers run on that.

Before you can pass you have to bind a key in the options -> controls menu.
It’s on the left side in the middle and has the title “Powerball”.

Heres what I’ve written in the shortcut (properties -> target (in german: Eigenschaften -> Ziel)):


"C:\Programme\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ET.exe"  +set fs_game powerball  +set sv_pure 0

The only thing that you have to change in this example line is the directory to your “ET.exe”.

Comment time! Ahem, the option tab in the menu to bind the throw action seems to be broken. Whenever I type a key I want “Thow Ball” to be bound to, the screen flickers and it’s not bounded. Otherwise nice mod, haven’t had a chance to play it online yet, since there is no servers ATM.

Anyway, concerning map information: Why don’t you just write the information down in a file and upload it somewhere so it does not appear like you are trying to control who maps for the mod? Afterall, you don’t want to be called “Bill Gates Jr.” do you? :stuck_out_tongue:

Throwing the ball at someone so they can’t fire then fragging them and taking it back seems like a legitimate and intelligent tactic to me. I’d leave it in. Plus with like 4v4+ on the server, it would probably be less likely to be effective anyway.

throwing the ball at enemies is a time tested valid tactic in bombing run. no need to nerf it.

Yep noticed that bug too with the bind command.

lol damn hehe, it never even crossed my mind to just post the mapping info. Of course I’ll post that information. For starters I’ll post it here :slight_smile:

There are two new entities for the map: team_powerball, the actuall ball and a trigger for the goal: trigger_ballonly_multiple. Add these to your et_entities.def and map away. :slight_smile:

True it should, the thing that confused me was that it need to be inside the pk3 AND outside of the pk3. Not as with the cgame dll wich seems to be extracted from the pk3.

I still have the “Bad item index 76 on entity” error, after adding “+set fs_game powerball +set sv_pure 0” to the shortcut.
