Altho its nice to get a lot new missions, devs seem to go overboard on this one.
First, certain missions dosnt work, like “earn X ‘type’ exp with X merc”. There is simply no progressions, no matter what you do.
Second, missions like “complete X secondary objectives” should be scaled down in requirements. They are are map and side specific and there is usually limited amount of those per game that can be completed. Id say cut requirements by half.
And third, as previously “Earn X ‘type’ exp” requirements were a bit high, now devs completely decimated those. I could understand decreasing requirements by 20-30%, but it seems that they cut those by like 50%. Way 2 much.
New mission system.
Some new missions are nice but some are really bad, I especially hate the competitive missions after seeing what a mess of unbalance competitive is.
I’d wait up for the later time, maybe tomorrow even before saying progression of the missions are not working properly. Looks like the attempt to update stuff without downtime wasn’t still successful enough, stuff is bound to be broken for short while.
Hopefully will see soon how they implemented comp missions, as I don’t like either missions “forcing” one into comp. Although SD did apparently try to balance out matchmaking which is nice. Did you get one of those missions already @ironicKrill ? Mind sharing how it goes? : >
Secondary mission seems…huge…though, compared to how small reward it gives ._. Holy quacamole one gotta have a buddy in enemy team to farm if they want to achieve said missions in Chapel or Bridge for example.

I had the “win 1 competitive match” mission for 750 gold (or whatever its called). First match I played was unbalanced but I was lucky to be on the winning team, but the win didn’t register so I played 2 more matches that were utterly unbalanced and sadly I was on the losing team. In the last match my team was so bad the other team was just standing behind the spawn and killing us as we spawned.
At some point i have alredy proposed “mission recycling” system.
Eg every mission can be swapped for another of same type and level, with random outcome.
Like “play X games in Stopwatch mode” to “play X games in Objective mode”, or “Earn X ‘type’ exp” into “Earn X ‘type’ exp”, but of different type(combat into either game or support, or any variations of those three, as long as swapped mission is different).
With possible limitations like only one swap per each mission per cycle(3 hours).
Forcing players to play specific modes to complete missions is just bad form.
So they did get rid of the nasty “win x matches in y mode” missions in pub but implemented them to competitive?
While it is progress, not happy how that’s implemented. I kinda see how they’re trying to encourage people to try out matchmaking, since it’s supposed to be competitive-orientated FPS, but MM seems to still have quite a lot of issues to be viable encouragement yet. And pretty sure lack of anti-cheat drives away quite many players from MM, so until one gets implemented, there shouldn’t be comp missions imho.

They should first fix competitive before they want to encourage ppl to play it.
I prefer to play objective over playing stopwatch cause stopwatch practicly 2 objective matches in a row and if you’re on the losing team you can choose to leave and get no reward for trying to play or get rekt for another 15 mins.
Yep thats what I ment, that SD should look into problems in MM comp before implementing missions to it. Direction is right though, now that system tries to search properly ranked opponents tad longer
I mostly lost interest in SW when I found out only 2nd round gives XP and Credits. Even if it’s not that harshly true, it did seem to give way less than playing 2 Objectives.
I think the xp issue was fixed (not 100% sure), also (not sure about this either) but I think the total time of an objective match (played to the end) is longer than 1 part of SW match so more time to get more xp.
While they supposedly fixed exp issue in SW mode, so now it counts both rounds, i still prefer Objective mode for 2 simple reasons: first alredy mentioned here, unbalanced games and second is that 2 objective games vs 1 sw game give you double the chance to get a loadout crate(since its 2 games instead of one in same timeframe).
do you know that or just assuming? no clue myself but i would of thought the cases came from time played or something , they seem to be pretty regular

I played 3 competitive matches after the patch and all 3 were utterly unbalanced, like a team of gold ranks vs team of unranks.
So fixed?

Theory based on observation.
While crates do drop fairly regularly, i havent seen any clear pattern to drops. Sometimes i get one every second game, sometimes its nothing for 5-7 games.
