New mercs!!!

It’s been way too long since the last merc role-call.! <3

Honestly I believe SD should get the old mercs’ shit together before releasing new ones, or this game will end just like League of Legends. Phantom is still a pile of dogshit and they should rework him before pushing out another one.

and a balancing that is so broken that the game will ultimately end up being played by 10 year old fuckwits, youtubers who’re making money of the 10 year old fuckwits, and a bunch of people who call their craft e-sports because they get paid to pretend that the game is eligible for competetive play.

Just going to leave this here.

I understand the concept of moba-games.
Riot failed at recreating something that comes close to “perfect” imbalance though.
Go to LoLKing or another site to watch charts and do weekly comparisons of pick/ban/winrates of certain champs, and then tell me once more that this game is properly balanced.

And to lead back to my original point: League of Legends suffers from too many champions that are released in a too high frequency, which does not allow for proper balancing measures to be taken for older champions. And I fear that something similar might happen to Dirty Bomb if splash continues to pump out more mercs than they can tweak and re-balance at the same time.

Something like this hasn’t happened yet. But do we have to provoke it?

I just want Redeye xD

The implication in your post is that there’s a risk the rate of new merc addition will affect balance. I don’t believe that is true, for two reasons:

  1. We’re seeing mercs released more slowly than champions in LoL, your given example.

  2. There are a lot less variables to balance in this game than that one. In LoL, you have entire tables of stat growth that vary for every single champion, you also have base ability growths and ability scaling to take into consideration, and every possible combination of item builds to balance. In Dirty Bomb, we have base health, base movement speed, and whatever their abilities do that need balancing. Guns don’t need adjustment based on the merc pool - every gun will behave identically for every merc that can use it. If a merc is too strong, it is an unrelated issue to if a gun is too strong. That’s not true in LoL.

why would you compare this game to LoL?

Honestly, while i dislike LOL, it can be compared to it if they want to take this to the competitive scene. You choose your team’s setup, most of the time u’ll have 1-2 healers, 1 carry (assault) 1-2 ammo support, 1-2 engineers so it makes sense.
The reason some champions in LOL are banned is not necessarily because they are imbalanced, it’s often because they’re annoying to play against or their specific setup does not have a good counter vs that specific hero

That said, imo the “lower tier” mercs are Kira, Arty (clearly overshadowed by Skyhammer, who has the m4, easiest weapon in the game, more hp’s and a very easy to use artillery strike)
and in a lower degree maybe Fletcher (much harder to play than the other engineers)
And if Phantom counts as an assault, imo he’s also pretty weak (in competitive play for sure), there are better picks (fragger, nader, rhino)

Personally, I gotta disagree with calling Kira low tier. Her laser alone is enough to put her above that xP. Stronger, more useful since it can be aimed and on a lower CD than Skyhammer’s airstrike.

Please avoid linking to those hacks.

Their video’s are full of flaws, their content recently shifted to a full-on SocJus agenda(with disregard to their older claims), and the one you linked isn’t even particularly relevant.

(Also, phantom is a pile of poop, since his changes went in the worst possible direction.)
